hi, I'm 20years old, and I would love to try and get started racing and in the next few years work my way up to a sponsorship in the moto gp circuit.

I currently drive a gsx-r 1000 and I think I've got the stones and experience to take it around a track faster than most.

Q: how do I get involved in racing and start my way up to GP??

(I'm already an AMA member and I think they have races but I don't know how to find out when/where) (I live in Colorado)

Its about 50 degrees where its stored. Should I be worried that it backfired about 4 or 5 times while choked, and then warmed up fine once I backed the choke down and let it run? Its a 2000 Suzuki SV 650 S (v twin). Its never had any problems before, but I"ve also never let it sit for 7 days before between startings. Thanks for any help!!! Cheers.

I rejetted it recently and fitted a new battery, plugs and a stubby exhaust. It ran fine through the summer until the battery died. I replaced it but has'nt been the same since and has started cutting out at low speed when I change down to first. any ideas?

Hey. 1982 Yamaha Virago 750cc. I recently rebuilt and cleaned the carbs and flushed the fuel system. Now it either idles really high, like 2500 rpms, or it bogs at 500 and dies. Nothing in between. When I hit the throttle, same problem, either no power at all, or it gets stuck at the top of the twist and screams at 5 or 6000 rpm (making a ton of noise).

My current thoughts are - 1 re-clean the carbs, and lubricate the throttle lever. 2 - remove old throttle cable and replace with new, lubricated cable and adjust the limits. 3 - adjust the return spring on the throttle lever.

Your thoughts?

The problem: This ATV would not even click or turnouver. I have installed a new starter relay and new battery, however each time the negative lead is touched to the battery terminal the engine now wants to start even when the ignition switch is off and the kill switch is off. What could be another source of the problem?

A friend of mine is considering purchasing a fairly loaded Harley to the tune of $25g's. Being 40, he wondered how much money he should have in investments or in the bank before pulling $25k out to buy a bike. I thought $200k (not including any home equity), but other friends of mine said they'd finance a Harley even if they had $0 in the bank. How much should someone have before making a purchase on a luxury item like a Harley?

I looked on my chain and the chain manufacturer is RK. I know that I need to get a master link for an RK chain and know that it needs to be a 525 size chain. Does anything else matter as far as selecting the right master link?

I see another search engine has people pay to get answers and they split the money with so called "experts". http://motorcycle.justanswer.com/expert.aspx

Have you tried this? Did you make any money? Are you going to sign up and try it? Do you think Yahoo will turn to doing that?

The bike needs to be going by itself and then the rider has to be able to manouver the bike on its side whilst keeping it stable. It must also not crush the riders leg. Any ideas?

I've been thinking about geting a motorcycle. I don't currently own a bike.

How hard is it to get a license if you've never ridden before? The only experience I've had was like twenty five years ago on my friend's 3 wheeler ATV a couple of dozen times.

I assume I'd need a bike to take the road test to get the license. I'm not crazy about buying, insuring and registering a bike in the hopes that I will pass the road test. So how hard is it to pass with little/no prior experience.

Is there someplace to rent a bike for the test? I live in New York City.

Like most guys I want to look cool (like Jesse James and Paul Teutul) and ride with just one hand, but sometimes I worry that I might hit a bump and end up stacking it with only one hand on the bars. Is it worth the risk?
