I have an Icon Mainframe helmet and it smells really bad. I did take out the cheek pads and washed them. I heard you can put your whole helmet in the dishwasher, does this work? Any ideas would be great.

This is a 1981 Yamaha Maxim 650 that has been sitting for a few years. Is this just a sign that two of the spark plugs are not firing or fouled or something more? Will new plugs correct this problem?

So shifting from 1st to 2nd cause a delay and some clunking.
3rd to 2nd downshifts cause a clunk but not near as bad.
The gears are new, the shift forks are new.
The bike hasn't run in 40 years but, their are new parts in the transmission, could the lutch pack be making this hesitiation? It only does it in gear #2, could the shift drum be worn out?

Any ideas?????
I would like to get this out on the street again since it looks fresh off the assembly line.

Mine was To pick the spot where I wanted to turn, then right when I ready to turn, actually swivel my head to look as far ahead as I could. This almost completely stops multiple mid-turn corrections. It also slows down your perception of speed. It freeks you out at first, looking in a different direction than you're going but once you get used to it, works great. What has worked for you? This question is for all motorcyclists, harley's,sport-bikes, and everthing in between..

I have a 1982 Yamaha virago 750cc engine. I dropped it the other day. Bent the shift lever inwards. Fixed that. Was able to fire it up then drove it around the block a couple times yesterday. But today it just cranks and cranks until the battery goes low. Will not turn over. I tried every position on the petcocks to get it gasoline, choke open choke closed, added some oil just in case, everything, it will not turn over. Thoughts?

I start it up with the full choke and then after a few minutes I turn it down but then after I rev the engine a few times it cuts off. So I start it up again with the full choke and it won't start unless I have the throttle wide open with the full choke, as soon as I let the throttle go it cuts off. Its an 07 Kawasaki 250 Ninja. So its fairly new. What could be the problem?

Well, I was rebuilding a gearbox this weekend and came to fiting the frame, tightened everything up, gear lever on, clutch cable on.. Anyway, i came to give it a quick check to make sure it was going throguh all the gears correctly, but i can only get neutral, 1st and 2nd, (and even they are hard to get into to) I know i have put it together correctly from the manual and there isnt anything obvious that is wrong.. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this.. ANYTHING?

Thanks.

A neck brace simular to what motocross racers wear. A helmet can be made with a neck brace fitted on as a one piece design. This will protect the rider from serious neck and spinal injury. Do you think laws should be inacted to make neck braces mandatory on all motorcycle helmets?

Where is the clutch? Do they have front brakes? Was this ever on a stock bike and why would you want to use this type shifter?

I got a nasty flat last night on my 1983 KZ750 (it's a Kawasaki cruiser) and don't want to have it towed to a mechanic. Can I safely remove the rear wheel so that I can take it to a shop?

The bike has shaft drive, which I've never messed-with. Is there anything special about that for which I'll need special tools, gaskets, etc? All I need to do is take the wheel in to change the tire.

So usually I have to start my bike at night with the choke mid way, well today it would rev up to 2000-3000 rpms as usual but then it dropped to zero and cut off. After about 5 times of that happening I turned the choke all the way but it was reving up to 6000 rpms and I didn't want to pull off on that because I'm a new rider. So I ended up pushing my bike home.

What could cause this? I let the bike warm up for a few minutes before pulling off. I was able to pull off but as soon as I slowed down and pulled up to the parking lot it just cut off and wouldn't start with the choke unless it was turned all the way on. It was has about 3400 miles on it. Do I need to adjust the idle adjusting screw or synchronize the carburetors? Any help is appreciated. I only have to use the choke when its cold but this is the first time it happened where it kept shutting off.
