Hello from Dorset! I ride a 50cc as well as keeping a car but want to move on to something a little bigger. I have seen the bike to which I have given a link below; do you think it would suit a beginner? I am 22 and looking for something simple and fun to ride with few creature comforts- would this fit the bill? Is £2200 a fair price?

And at 25 bhp and 350cc what sort of performance am I looking at, bearing in mind I am used to a 30 mph 50cc scooter so might find even a little excess in power quite surprising!

Thanks!

Here it is:

Am a first time rider and really intrested in these 2 bikes....... honda shadow spirit 750 and a suzuki boulevard c50. Am 5'9 weight around 220 lbs so dont even mention for me to learn on someting like a 250 honda rebel or even a 600 shadow. That just doesnt seem or look right. The c50 is around 50 lbs heavier then the spirit. And the c50 is has around 850 cc comparing to the spirit's 750. They are both around the same price. Since am new to the bike world,,,,, is that a huge difference? I mean will i feel the extra 50 lbs and the extra 100 cc? I like the spirit but I really really like the looks of the suzuki's c50. I guess both bikes are very reliable. I've heard the down side of the spirit is that they still use the carburator as they did 20 years ago. I know the c50 is a fuel injected. Does that really matter?

I have a 1999 V Star 650 Classic with 28k miles on it. When I ride, I get the sensation something is loose in the frame or suspension. It's like the front wheel and forks are hinged seperately from rear of bike and not tight. When I slightly wiggle the handle bars back and forth it seems like it gets "speed wobbles" and maintains the wobble action on its own. Rear tire seems "slippery" but I can't find any play anywhere when bike is parked. Rear tire is also wearing too quickly. I have handle bar risers but that should not be the problem. Bike did not do this when I bought it at 18k. Anyone heard of this problem????

I am 16years old, weigh 110lbs and am about 5'4. I’m about to buy a bike but am not quite sure what to purchase. I know i should start with a 250cc but I hate the way it looks. I’m looking for something that looks like the 650r that can also be suitable for my physic. I WILL take the MSF course and am a pretty responsible rider, so considering all that what bikes meet my standards.

I have a 2007 Harley Davidson Softail Custom. I am doing a 103 cubic inch upgrade and would like to get at least 115 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheel when I am done. I currently am running with Rhinehart pipes and a SE air cleaner. My local dealer says that he does not think he can get me that much torque from the 103 big bore kit and cyllinders, aggressive gear driven cams, and an SE race tuner. Any ideas how I can get at least that much power without having to run on race gas? I mentioned having head work done, but he said he has not seen numbers that high from previous customers that have had head work done.

I don't know why you would want to do it, but if someone had a street bike and wanted to limit the top speed to 80 mph, can that be done? I can understand it on a motorcycle for a little kid, but for a full size motorcycle? Is there any kind of chip that can be installed?

Slightly gutted. Past my bile test in 1990, rode a CBR1000f for 9 months, haven't riden since. Move address twice. Went to buy a Yamaha on Saturday, only to find that the DVLA had taken off the bike element sometime between 1991 & 2006. Now I've got to go through the CBT and other bits again. CBT costs around £150 (then stay on a small bike for 2 years), or direct costs around £580.
DVLA say I should have photocopied the licence whenever a change occured. They never lost the licence, just took the motorcycle element off it.

My bike is a Yamaha 650Maxim 1984. I've charged the battery, but it still won't turn over. I opened the throttle when I pushed the starter button to get a rich mix, but it still won't turn over. I could smell gas which I think means I flooded it. Any ideas?

I've heard some horry stories and I know that the bike will be insured but I don't want to go through that. If anyone has transported their bike please let me know how your expirence went. I am looking for something affordable and reliable. Thanks

my 27yr old boyfriend (we have 3 LITTLE boys, ages 6,5 and 3) died yesterday morning at the sceen in a senseless motorcycle accident. he was speeding, not wearing a helmet. and he was drunk. I have begged him to wear his helmet over and over, and most of the time he didn't. he said he didn't like it. riding was his life. I think me and the boys came in second after his bike. so at least he died doing what he loved.
my question is.....if you were him.....would you be mad at yourself. I mean...do you think he is up in heaven kicking himself in the ***? Or do you think he would just have done it again if he had lived? I know this is a stupid question. I just wish I could ask him....was it worth it? you know?

if you died today in a motorcycle accident, would riding have still been worth it? is it worth the risk?
I AM SO FREAKING MAD AT HIM. AND SO VERY SAD TODAY. WHAT DO I TELL MY BOYS?

My dad went through his mid life crisis & has taken my mother with him. He got a Harley five years ago and they ride all the time. Truth is, he let me ride it a few times & now I MUST have one! What is the least expensive type to get? Should I go new or used? I've seen the Softail & am in love with the body but it seems kind of pricey. Help me out Harley fans.
