My borther lives in Florida. He is giving me his motorcycle. I need to find a transport company to get the bike here to San Diego. I've looked online and there are a bunch of companies. I've heard some horry stories and I know that the bike will be insured but I don't want to go through that. If anyone has transported their bike please let me know how your expirence went. I am looking for something affordable and reliable. Thanks

Believe me I looked into riding the bike back. Wife and work won't allow it. :( But I like the way your mind works. :)

did it occur to u this is a perfect opportunity to explore the roads between sd and fl? u might not get another chance for awhile depending on work situation. grab a map and plan out a non-interstate ride back, and enjoy the views change. i recommend flying to fl with just a backpack of clothes, and ride the bike back home. not only will u save cash on transportation costs (and possible damage from morons they hire), but u'll see the country in a whole different light. dude, bikes were made to be ridden. take a week off from work, and ride yer a.ss off mon.

Forget the transport company. Take forktails advise, fly to Florida and ride the bike back to San Diego. What a great opportunity. Don't let it slip through your fingers.

Forktail is right, it is an opportunity!

If the bike is not up to par, you lack experience, or time, I would say transport it, otherwise, you got a really cool ride over the southern end of the Rockies.

I recomend these two transporters: Harley davidson shipping at 888-224-2435 or PMI motorcycle shipping at 866-985-8700
