So if you own 4, one of which is a Harley, doesn't that make you a Harley rider too or does it sit in the garage collecting dust? Bitter aren't we??

Why do others embellish their own perception of the question?! It does not say it defines you, it says it tells the world where you stand, BIG Difference!!

I'm a pig pusher. I have a '99 FXDWG (The Dyna Wide Glide) with just about everything in the book hanging off of it. Sissy bar, nerf bars, hiway pegs, auxuliary lighting, (triple headlamps, that is.) the winking brakelight, an S & S "E" model carb and SE II pipes, mini apes, a windscreen, a console extension, a fat 'ol mustang touring seat, caliper inserts, aftermarket pegs, brake pedal and shifter, aftermarket grips, shorty progressive shocks, I could write a book!

I've got the factory 2 tone paint job in purple with black inserts, red and gold pinstripes, and gold H-D lettering. It really looked good when it was new, but she's starting to show her age and miles. About time for a rebuild, and I may just break down and have it repainted while it's mostly apart. My first hog was an XL1200C and I ditched it pretty quick once I learned to handle it. Don't think I can ever part with my Dyna though. Ride it every day just about, back and forth to work. Nice piece of equipment, but expensive to maintain. I, every now and then, wish I had an old Japanese bike back but quickly regain my senses.

I hope it says I love my hog, and that I try to buy American whenever possible. (And that the more "bling" you got on your ride, the easier it is for the cagers to see you!) Ride safe. Ciao!

And somebody needs to tell lone beagel that the question was sit on, not in. (There is one in every bunch.)

No squids, thank you. You know who you are. The question is being asked by a HOG rider. Thanks to all you squids for the thumb down. Makes me realize why I hate Jap crap, and the people that ride it.

It does not matter......We all co-exist on the same roads. Who cares if Harley riders hate Crotch Rocket riders and Crotch Rocket riders hate Moped riders.......Sounds like a type of "Motorcycle Racism".
The thing is, I don't care "where i stand" in anybodies eyes.Because, I ride to have fun and enjoy the freedom to do that....... I am not going to lose any sleep over it. The only thing you can do is respect other riders and their motorcycles, If they don't respect you that's o.k., When so rider calls your bike "a piece of crap" that means their shallow and they don't respect anyone, No matter what...... Because "posers" are the only ones that care about "what kind of bike they have and how they look on it".......The one thing that people always overlook is, "The Almight Asphalt" does not care about how shiny your bike is or how much you spent on leathers.

Does it? I never really thought of it that way.
I guess it may. Not the motorcycle itself, but the other things.
The Veteran's plates that also carry the state motto "Live Free Or Die". The Gold Star flag painted on the tank. The Hondaline hard bags - I believe they tell some.

And what I sit on is a Corbin-Gentry seat in a style that HD hasn't used for years.

I ride FXD35 #2347 in honor of the 2347th American KIA in Iraq.

your statement makes the arrogant assumption that everyone can ride exactly what they choose.
most people ride what they can afford to ride if that's a 35 year old cb350 they have my respect, it means their desire to be on 2 wheels is more important to them than their concern for other peoples opinions.
that shows more strength of character than someone who wont ride unless they can be seen on a shiny new $25,000 fashion accessory.
but that's just the opinion of this grey beard old dinosaur that rides highly modified old Harley's that I put together & paint myself because it wouldnt be right to chop the few remaining Indians that are left.& I cant afford a vincent.(never could)
I would even ride a stock sport bike if that was all that was available but hopefully I'll go greasy side up in a shower of sparks before that happens.
RIDE ON!

I'm in the market for a new bike at the moment (preference Italian - Duc, Aprilia, MV Augusta). That's my preference. I get great amusement from the 'HD vs Sprotsbike' thing; and I think a lot of the 'antagonism' it is for show. I agree with the above answerers; who cares; but enjoy what you do SAFELY.
The riders who annoy me are those who don't think of the consequences and take unrealistic risks. There's a term for them: SQUIDS - Stupidly Quick, Under-dressed., Imminently Dead.

When I was looking at one bike and expressing doubts, the sales person said something I think is quite true: "Who chooses a bike with their head? Choose it with your heart!"

I ride a Bajaj Chetak!

I am here to walk the walk of conserving fuel, not to talk about it.

My bike is a daily commuter, and I use about 5 gallons of fuel (on average) per month.

I have a car too, and it is a Mercedes 300D Turbo diesel, I converted to run vegetable oil, which I get for free. It still has to be started on partial diesel fuel, but it is minimal.

I can afford gas and diesel, I just don't like the idea of buying it from THEM!

Flames huh? Eh, everyone has flames.

Never thought of my bikes as a philosophical statement , but I've got a 91 FXR 121" 6 speed complete rebuild ,(very trick) and the sidecar I built for my pit bull.

I wonder what that says about where I stand?!??!
