I have been riding motorcycles since 1946. I have had accidents that should have killed me. If riding is in your blood then nothing will be let in the way of it. No wife or children or family are thought of while the wind is blowing in your face. If I was to die riding and I expect that some day I might I would probably miss riding more than any loved one. I know I sound callous and insensitive to you and your loss.
For him not wearing a helmet was in my estimation was stupid. Not that it would have saved his life but that I might have. My last accident, I landed on my head with a motorcycle’s weight on me. It jammed my neck into my spine and I hurt for several months but I was back ridding almost the next day.

I tried to work hard and be a good husband and provider and my wife hated me for it,I guess I was boring and couldn't find anything to seem hsappy;I always tried to be successfully self ewmployed as I could never hold a "job" and "jobs" never paid enough anyway.......... I figured our marriage was over and bought a harley and started riding it and hitting bars and before I knew it I had a hobby that gave me some enjoyment in life ..... when my job became too stressfull I jumped on the bike and a thirty minute ride made it all better.... one of us is gonna leave eventually ..... we have been getting along great for the past year and a half, but the first ten years not so close .... but eventually one of us will DIE ..... is it better to live a short Happy life or a Long Miserable one .... was the bad boy biker image part of what attracted you to him?
I am so sorry for your loss ......
Most people onbikes can Not ride them .... I drove 18 wheelers for 10 years and it took 3 years and about 15 accidents before I was ready to actually ride a bike on the interstate;and I grew up riding bikes in the country rodes drinking and smoking weed from ten to 14 years old and a little in my 20's ........ but now I really find it a stress release .... but no it would not be worth my son growing up without a father ..... but divorce would be worse for my son i think ........

First, my condolences for you and your children.
Apparently, you did the right thing, reminding him to wear a helmet, etc.
It sounds like he had a lot of factors working against him, like being drunk (chemically induced stupidity), not having the helmet, acting foolish!
I feel bad for the kids! Be honest, teach them right, and if they want to ride, make them do so safely.
Who knows if the helmet would have saved him, but he made sure it would not by speeding, and being drunk.
I don't think anyone here blames you for being mad, it was really stupid, at least from what you are saying.
By the way, yes, riding is worth the risk, as long as those risks are minimized. Driving a car is risky, and so is living in a house with electricity, but they are worth the risk.

If I died today in a motorcycle accident, YES it would have been worth it. Your ol' man lived the way he wanted, and died the way he wanted. By the way, you never said if his not wearing a helmet was the cause of his death. I think you are probably nothing but a pro helmet socialist troll.

They say a boat is safe in a harbor, but that is not what they were made for. Living a totally safe life on a couch isn't living.
It is better to have lived and enjoyed some thrilling experiences that to have not lived at all. Drinking and riding a motorcycle almost took me out, so I gave up that part and I do wear a helmet. Sorry about your loss, but he was doing the combo that has one predictable ending.

Evil Knievel (Spelling???) worn a helmet and over time had broke about every bone in his body. But, he kept going back to do it again.
This is sad and I can understand how you must feel. I have seen two of my friends die this way. One had a helmet and hit head on. The other did not have a helmet and tried to miss the car, but, hit the telephone pole. What was bad with the second. He was married and had children and no life insurance. She has had a hard time of it paying house payments and such.

Wow! You have every right to feel as you do!
I died for 10 minutes... from a motorcycle wreck (pic below).
If I had left a beautiful girl and three little angels behind, I'd be kicking the **** out of myself! You and your wee one's are the most important part of his past life and I'm sure he knows that now! So sorry for your loss! I hope you to be well and be happy in the future... ! Don't let your anger drift to your boys! Remind the little dudes that their daddy loves them! Important!

First of all, it will be alright... Second, I hate to bring this up to you but if he loved you and your family he would've taken every inch of safety and responsibility. It's clear that he put his interests above the family. But that's just me... My Condolences...

No answer this time, I simply don't believe your story. You have the composure to write such a question on Y/A so soon after the purported loss.
