True that statement. I don't want him riding next to me.
Not all HD riders are like him....You called it correctly, he was just a poser..... Nothing more.

There's one good thing that has come from all this biker wannabe crap. That would be that all the real outlaws have in a way been made legit.I mean I don't have to worry about being pulled over anymore by the pigs just because I'm riding a Harley. Also when I am pulled over, which is almost never,I don't have to worry about being flashlight whipped for being a filthy biker. The cops don't really bother Harley riders anymore unless you're really showing your ***.Their after you crotch rocket riders now.Another plus for hard core bikers.Unless you're sporting a 1%er patch you just blend in with the masses.Cops don't want to pull over a Harley because the guy riding it might be a judge,a lawyer,a senator,or congressman. The real guys can still dress like they used to and know one is the wiser. Thanks posers! And sorry to hear you got busted by the word police.

Yes, that was a silly question!
I can't imagine someone who can drive a car, and cannot figure out an electric start on a bike!
The Harley legend is real, but is distorted and mixed with marketing hype, and that is what splits the Harley culture into 2.
It saddens me that people (on both sides of the fence) choose to throw cheap shots, and do not realize that we are biker bothers and sisters.
Everyone is sensitive out here! Come on! Why not enjoy our bikes, and who cares who is watching!
If I cared who watched, maybe I would have a Harley, but my parameters for my motorcycle are different than others'.
I can afford a Harley if I choose, and for those who do, it's fine with me! You want a big bike to go to the donut shop, ok!
I have my bike for a daily commuter, long trips, and it's extremely high fuel economy. My bike goes everwhere except the Interstate, but that is best for my riding right now. I demonstrate to many that they often have more bike than they need, especially when I run long trips!
Too much bike trashing is going on here, and not enough riding, please remember we all ride, and we are all brothers and sisters!

it's funny, I have answered a lot of questions here, some I was being silly with, but most I gave what I considered to be good answers too. I got reported a couple of times for good answers, but somebody just felt like hitting the report it button I guess. I did answer the question you are talking about too. I just gave the guy the best detailed answer I could. And I hope it helped him. I don't like it when anybody gives an insult for an answer, when it would be just as easy to give a good answer and help a guy out. But I would not report someone for being silly with an answer unless it was vulgar or obscene etc. Remember that Yahoo has started keeping track now of people who report others for no good reason, I heard that they were starting to kick people off here that are chronic about making false reports. So it will even out in the end.
Meantime, I guess I have to remember to follow my grandfathers advice: there is no such thing as a stupid question, just a stupid answer ;0)

I gave him basically the same answer. And he sure isn't a "Harley rider" if he can't even start the damn thing. What ticks me off is idiots with too much money and not enough brains running out buying new Harleys and decking themselves out in the latest trendy "HD Motorclothes" making every guy on a Harley look like an idiot. I've been riding Harleys for many years and I love 'em. And in case you're wondering i own 3 Harleys and my favorite is my 55 rigid pan chopper. Kickstart only and suicide clutch/jockey shift.

I was one of the posters the had given you a thumbs up, I felt the same way as you.
I wouldn't sweat the small stuff , This guy is just trying to rack up the poser points so him and his buddies can compare notes when they conjugate at the local doughnut hole.
As the old saying goes. "Some of the people some of the time, Some of the people all the time".
I have over 30 years in the saddle and seen all types of riders, but to this day I still get a kick out the weekend bikers trying to emulate a 1%er.

there was recently a 'harley rider' that had all the spelling of a 12 yr old....and i told him to go back to playin on the x-box and i got reported for that. some just cant handle it when ya call em on some glaring obvious things that they just dont ride. on the same token, u got too many that cant get out of the 'stone age' amf-days of harley where their bikes were a bit something to be desired. the bikes have come a hell of a long way since those dark times, and they still cant figure that out. if harley was so bad, then why am i seeing mechanical problem posts, and rarely is the bike a harley that's circa 1989-present. its always a jap bike, and most of them are rockets. hmmmmmm

You absolutly right, he is a pouser. What kind of person goes out and buys a bike for 20k and doesn't even know how to start it! Thats weak. He's probably some weekend warrior suburbia type trying to toughen up his image. If he's gonna try to hang with the biker crowd, especially the harley crowd, he needs to stop being a whiner. Its all about sport bikes anyway!

F*ck'em if the can't take a joke, and joke 'em if the can't take a F*ck.
Some people ask stupid questions, they should expect a stupid answer.
Every bike I have owned, either from a dealer or private sale. I had them go over the entire bike before the sale. The "Start" button or kick starter is pretty easy to locate on just about every bike I have seen or ridden.

I'm only sensitive when you step on my sensitivities.
I remember that question. I also remember not answering it.
There was a reason for that.
Sometimes ignorance needs to be supported.
Why in the world would I bother to tell some guy's neighbor how to start a motorcycle?
I also figured that the neighbor who bought it might have actually learned something about it by the time he got it started.

The real issue is the report. If you used no profanity in replying to what he said, a report should have been ignored. I had a similar thing happen to me. It angers me that silly reports like that are considered, when there are some really awful posts that are allowed. I have already suggested an adult be employed to look over the abuse reports, but I expect it to be ignored because it makes sense.
