Does anyone know how much is the fair price to do a Barke job on 2002 S60 Volvo (No Turbo)? I'll need a set of Pads & Rooter for front...I've got an estimate around $500 from my mechanic including parts & labor? how does this sounds to you....Thanks for your feedback..

I have a 97 f150, and when i reach or stay at 37-38 mph the front end starts shaking. This also happends when i brake to come to a light, etc. as soon as i hit the brake, and reach that mph my truck shakes. I have taken it to ford and they are telling me its my tires, and that the tread is messed up from having such a bad alighnment. I have gotten my alighnment fixed, rotated and balanced the tires and no difference at all. I'm not a mechanic, but it doesn't make since to me that tires with a messed up tread would act wierd at a certain speed. But what do i know. I also took it to brakes plus before ford and they told me that it was a bunch of stuff around $1700. I think they said the ball joints, and upper and lower control arms and some other stuff. Ford told me all that was fine, its my tires. I don't want to pay for new tires if thats not the problem. Any ideas what could be wrong?
Oh, ford also i don't need to rush on buying new tires, if i can live with the shaking.

I have a '95 buick century and the left front wheel has started squeaking loudly. It stops when I apply the brakes. I have wasted money going back and forth to the mechanic for noises that mean nothing. Do I need to worry about a wheel squeaking? What could it be?

I ALWAYS use my automatic start and never EVER open my door with my keys in my hand.

Why are there scratches on the door handle? I just bought my car 3 months ago!

Got a Land Rover Discovery 2,5 TDi 1992

Just yesterday when I turned off my car's engine the no-charge warning light (the red accu) remained on. When I turn the car on the light goes off. I assume alternator is charging the battery as lights, wipers, heater/blower has no problem even on parking, no lights blink when turning more aplances. But when I left my car for the night, next morning battery was totally drained...

My air works, but it does not warm up at all, even when I turn it all the way up, temperature wise. I am going to take it to the shop today but I was wondering what could be the problem? About how much do you think this might cost?

I haven't been giving my car the care and attention it deserves. I'm really worried about the cost. How much should I set aside every month for servicing and cleaning.

It's a Mitsubishi Carisma, in very good shape at the moment.

I have got a T reg Golf GTI Turbo, last week I was driving and as I pushed the clutch down to change gear it just sort of just disappeared. I pulled over as I was a bit confused and phoned my dad, he told me to get it off of the main road I need to turn the ignition OFF and put it into 1st and just rev it to try and get it moving. I stupidly didn't listen to the part where he said turn the car OFF and tried to put it into gear with the ignition on! After crunching the gears it just seemed to fall into 1st gear but as I revved the engine it didn't move. The clutch is now fixed (a bit of metal snapped off of the pedal) and I can get 3rd and 4th gear but none of the others. I have been told that there is no way I could have completely wrecked the gear box and that I could have bent the selector!!?? I don't want to take it to a garage yet as I don't want them to rip me off! I've looked on a VW website and a new gear box is £1,250! PLEASE HELP?

The other day my brand new Toyota Corolla 2007, started to smell and slowly loose power while driving in bumper to bumper traffic for thirty minutes, I was in the left lane on a three lane highway and had to get to the right curb in order to stop, all that I had left was a very weak 1st gear to get there, which is when I think I burnt the clutch, but I don't think it was what caused the lack of power in the first place, however I can't seem to convince the mechanics to look further... as all they see is a burnt clutch...

I have been driving standard for ten years and have never burnt a clutch before, this is why I find it hard to beleive that I did this to my not even a year old car. However who am I to argue...?
Could it be that the clutch was defective as it gave off a weak smell from time to time even in the beginning, even when someone else was driving...Could it be some other underlying problem...

I thought maybe the battery terminals or cables, but if i put another battery in the car, it will start right up. Since the battery seems to have a bit of a charge with, what is the problem? Is it maybe a cell went bad, and there is not enough power to crank the engine, but enough for radio, horn, lights, etc? It is one of the old style batteries (not a non maint battery). Here in the Dominican Republic most cars have them. It is a 2005 model year car.
