I have a 2007 LaCrosse and on several occasions it has gone off even thought I don't set it when I get out of the car. Usually happens right after I've stepped out of my car.

I have the 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine....I know where the 'stat's housing is and that it's attached to the block with two bolts, but only the right-most one is visible when I lean in from the top. Even if removed the fan and fan shroud, there isn't enough headroom flexibility to see the other bolt at eye-level. I've thought about buying a mechanic's mirror to gain better perspective and/or alignment for a socket wrench with an extension, but is there an easier way? What components can I remove (if any) to expose the other bolt and make this repair as trouble-free as possible? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated....

A diagram would be the most helpful or any kind of information as to what I shoud do... I made the error of not doing each wire seperately and now I don't know if they are all in the right place. Please help! I don't even want to start the truck because I'm afraid of what could happen.
Please only answer if you are sure, I don't want to make things worse... THANKS!!

I have a 2002 Olds Alero that has over thirty five thousand miles on the brake pads. And I think it is time to get them replaced. Does anyone know if Firestone is a good auto repair shop for this type of work? Or have you had a bad experience with Firestone?

I have a 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC DOHC 2.2 L motor I wanted to replace the Thermostat, but I bought a part from my local NAPA auto parts store and the size is different from the original. The H22A engine is JDM not USDM, the dimensions of the JDM is 6.5cm diameter, 7.3cm height, 7.3cm Seal diameter. And the USDM that I bought the height maybe the same but the diameter's are wayyyyy different, they're actually smaller than the original one in the motor. Do I need to import it, where can I find it if not imported, Do I need to get another year&model to match the size??? Please help.

I have been having this hissing sound in my steering when it's cold. Could not check the PS myself as is below engine. I went foran oil change today and had them check it, he said the PS fluid was low and mucky and I needed to have it flushed. So I did. $89.00. Was this flush needed?

all new parts but fuel injection system. i failed to have that replaced with rebuilt. i suspect the fact i cannot smell fuel and do not get any firing when spinning starter, that there is either blockage in motorside filter (where?) not tanks (dual) but can one injector fouled block fuel somehow and prevent it from starting?

Hi, me and my dad are about to buy a 1999 Suburban, the thing is that the suburban has 126,500 miles on it. We already checked it out and no smoke comes out of the exhaust, so the engine seams to be good. However I'd like to know how long do these engines last. Does anyone know?

I have a 1988 Ford Ranger with a 2.9L V6 engine. One of my friends and I was looking at my truck today and we noticed that if you press the gas pedal by hand the pedal has maybe an inch or 2 of play before the throttle cable under the hood moves. Is this why my truck takes longer to get up to speed? My truck has a 5 speed w/ overdrive manual transmission. I pretty much have to push the gas pedal to the floor to get up enought speed to shift gears. Is the play in my gas pedal the reason I have to floor it? If it is then how do I fix it?

I have a 1979 Chevy Scottsdale (Silverado). When I make a turn (mainly when stationary) my steering will turn half a turn and then stop and make a squeeky, slipping, whining type of noise. When im moving this will happen but mainly when im moving slowly. When the sound is made, the power steering seems to give up and then jump back on again after i turn harder. What do you think is causing this. All Ive narrowed it down to is either the steering belt, steering clutch or possibly the pump. Can you help me out?
Thank You -Cody

Under the hood, there is a filter, called an "air cleaner element", to keep dirt, sand, etc., from entering the engine. Does the air that comes out of the vents (heating / air conditioning) into the passenger compartment (a) come from this intake and pass through the same filter, (b) come from another intake and pass through a different filter, or (c) come from a different intake and not get filtered?

There are tiny specs of something in the air coming from the vent. Does this mean that I need to replace the filter on the air going to the engine?

I'm going right to it; i have the whole thing apart anyway... here's how i go about it. i take a picture; remove a bolt tape and number it and the hole it came out of... etc. take a picture and on and on. It's a 1991 plymouth voyager. a real battly wagon. so, i'm up for it, if it something i can do. If it's un unrealistic expectation though, then how do i block the window up better than the coat hangar style i described in my other question? (so I can put the panel back on?) Thanks for the input.

I have had 4 festivas, and this is the first time that I have had to swap a motor or anything major on any of them. Took the motor out of a festiva that was ready for the grave yard due to excessive rust and just plain worn out(shocks, struts, brakes, door hinges, fuel lines, etc.) the motor in that peice of junk ran like new, smooth as can be and no oil burning. Now, in the new body, it runs poorly. I don't have the exhaust hooked up yet, but otherwise everything is the same. Any ideas?

I bought a replacement at a salvage yard, now I have to remove the old one. In doing so, I have to break four bolts on the front and rear. I am using a 12 mm box end and have been hitting it with a hammer and getting nowhere. Will I have to drill these bolts out? I have used ratchet set same result.
