I have a 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC DOHC 2.2 L motor I wanted to replace the Thermostat, but I bought a part from my local NAPA auto parts store and the size is different from the original. The H22A engine is JDM not USDM, the dimensions of the JDM is 6.5cm diameter, 7.3cm height, 7.3cm Seal diameter. And the USDM that I bought the height maybe the same but the diameter's are wayyyyy different, they're actually smaller than the original one in the motor. Do I need to import it, where can I find it if not imported, Do I need to get another year&model to match the size??? Please help.

First of all, how do you know you have a bad thermostat? Did you actually check it to see if its bad? The most important thing with a thermostat, besides the size, is its heat range. It needs to open at a certain temperature. I would suggest you use the exact part, bring it back and show the guy the difference. You can go to a Honda dealer too.

I've looked around for a thermostat for an 04 Toyota. It turns out nobody makes them. Toyota doesn't want people to screw around changing different temperature thermostats. The stock OEM is a 180 degree unit.

My best advice to you is: You'll need to make a trip to a Honda healer and get an OEM unit.
