Maintenance & Repairs - November 2007

is two months two much if the finished product was promised to be done in two weeks?...at first the mechanic shop took responsibility..what should i do now that i have refused my car w/a used engine instead of a new or rebuilt engine that was promised to me in the beginning and the rear lights have been broken while in the mechanic shop?...i have been waiting for more than two months for an answer but i haven't gotten a reply...what are my rights?...should i be provided with a temporary transportation if it is the mechanics fault that my car broke down in the middle of a freeway?...i don't want to take advantage of them but i want justice made so both the mechanic shop and i have an equal advantage to this matter...also the mileage record of my car is higher than when i left my car at their shop. i want them to be held responsible for the damage done to my car. also the mechanic shops manager has ignored my demands for a summary report of what they did to my car...PLEASE ADVISE!..HELP!

I have 2002 trailblazer.
For the past year sporadically my car would die out when i would be at a stop, but would restart, no problem.
Recently it has been much more frequent, Not daily but when it does happen it is several times in that day. Now even when i put on the heat or radio it will die, but starts right back up.

I'm traveling from Atlanta to Albany and my vehicle is running hot. My reservoir is still full so I assumed that the thermostat is inop, and I need to change it. I've changed thermostats in GM vehicles but never worked on any ford vehicles.

anyone happen to be on tonite that knows about an old Century 80 gl wire welder?? The wire won't feed. The little motor turns on a bench test....but not while its installed on the welder.

This week i started to hear a clank, but i could never figure out where the noise was coming from until this morning when i started to hear a thumping noise. I then parked the vehicle at a gas station where i looked underneath, and found the passenger side rear shock absorber was separated from the frame. Last year Sears auto center replaced the shocks. Could it be possible that the mechanic didnt tighten the mounting bolts enough, or could they just snap?

anyone know were can i get a owners manual for a mark 6 ford transit? im having a problem with it, i get a light that comes on that has two wavy lines and while thats on the transit slows down, it will go when i switch on and off the ignition, i want to find out what it is incase it could develop into a serious problem.

cant get the the thermostat gasket to stay on the thermostat I dont think that I received the right gasket it is just a rubber ring that slides around the thermostat

ok so i drove my car one night and it was fine and then the next day when it was started it began to misfire and the check engine light is on, i had a diagnostic done and it said there were multiple random misfires, i got new plugs that didnt fix it, had the wires checked they are fine. the fuel filter is not dirty i checked it. i dont think its the injectors what are the possibilities of it being the coil? i just want to know before i go spending a lot of money on a part that i cant take back. thanks!

I have a 2001 Saturn SL2. The "coolant reservoir low" light is on when I start my car from cold. I have a bottle of that special coolant (DEX something) for Saturn. But it is like 4 years old sitting in my garage. It has a orange color. I am just wondering if I can still use it or I should buy new one. thanks.

They do offer ballancing is that as good or the same as alignments. Im just confused on why a company would sell tires and not have the option to allign them for you.

I tried to replace the blower motor control switch, but when I got the replacement part it only had 5 contacts instead of 6 like the orignal. We (Auto Zone & Car Quest) tried looking in the parts catolog for the right one but could not find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated
