I am in school for Automotive Service Technology. An assignment of mine is to find a list of the legal resons that I, as a tech, am allowed to disable an airbag. I've been searching and searching with no luck. I've tried the DMV, I've tried NHTSA, and about everywhere else you could imagine. If you know of a place I could get the list of reasons that a tech may LEGALLY disable an airbag, I would much appreciate some help.

I'm not talking about the average everyday person disabling their airbags, but the reasons that I, as a tech working in a shop on someone elses vehicle, may disable them.

Thank you in advance.

I have a 1996 Chevy Suburban that has a small hole in the rear of the muffler. It causes some annoying sounds and just sounds like something is clunking around. Is it dangerous or bad for the car if I don't get it fixed?

Daughter in law has a 2001 rodeo and it stalls from time to time usually sitting still or stopping. The idle seems to fluctuate a little but not much. (almost seems normal to me but dips lower han i like some) The parts store said 1 o2 sensor and that did nothing. Took to the shop and they said another that did nothing but the check engine light went off. I looked at two of the plugs o see if they were dirty but looked in very good shape. The motor runs good otherwise and maintenance has been kept up. Any ideas? There are no leaks and the suv is kept very clean. all the wiring and vacuum hoses i find look good. the check engine light is not on.

Is there a program I can get and get the cable for the obd that does not cost to much to check codes on cars at my house? It is a pain running up to the parts store to see what the codes say.

I just changed 2 tires for my car. I didn't change all 4 because the old ones were fairly new. They said that it was safe to place the new tires at the back of the car (it's a 2 wheel drive) and placed the old tires to the front. The new tires are different brands than the original ones. Is that safe?

Need some input. For a MKIV Supra.... tire sizes 275/35/18 and 235/40/18.
Right now I'm on Falken's and would like to know what are some other GREAT tires out there.... I'm leaning towards the BFGoodrich g-Force™ T/A® KDW

i have a 1971 340 engine. It skips at idle. I've put in new wires, plugs, cap, & converted it from points to electronic ignition. The motor has 30 over pistons, a mild cam, a carter abf competition carburator (4 barrel). It skips from idle to about 2000 rpms. If you hit the throttle hard there's no skip & the engine produces tons of power. I've done a compression test and have 135 lbs per cylinder. I've also replaced the intake gasket thinking I might have an internal leak, but it didn't cure the problem. Does anybody have any answers or suggestions? Thanks - Ross
