My battery wont hold a charge. Starts well, but I get a block away and all my gages die and within two minuets the Van dies. Battery and alternator were tested and are fine. Changed battery connectors(completely changed battery connectors), belt to alternator is fine, also. What do I try next?

A little more information would be good.

Do you boost it or charge the battery to restart it?

Does it spin over after it quits?

Is there any other signs or noises?

What does your alternator gauge say when you restart it.

A fully charged battery should last more than a block and two minutes even if your alternator isn't working.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere.

What you're describing sounds like very, very low battery and an inoperative alternator.

The battery exists only to store electricity to operate the starter. The alternator is actually what provides the power to run all the accessories and systems while the car is running. If the battery is low, the voltage regulator calls for power from the alternator to charge the battery.

So, with all of that said, if the alternator is bad, then the car will die as soon as the battery voltage is too low to provide electricity to all of the vehicle's systems.

Now, after reading all of the above, I recommend you take the car to a different shop and have the battery and charging systems tested again.

Check the battery terminals for corrosion. Check that the body, frame, & engine have good rust free grounds, & make sure they are securly fastened. If all checks out, there may be an issue with the ignition switch.

Test the battery and alternator again.
They're missing something there.

If it's a starting problem-check your ignition module-they are subject to heat related failure.
