No.

Go to autozone, have them read out the trouble codes for you. Fix the problem. The code usually points you in the right direction, most often a failed sensor.

Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it will not clear the memory. Fixing the problem will generally turn off the light, although it may take a number of driving cycles before the stored data is overwritten.

The check engine light will come on to warn you of problems when any of the systems the computer monitors return a value outside the parameters it expects to see.

Now, if the O² sensor happens to go out, what additive do you think would help it? Or if a spark plug begins to misfire due to either a bad high tension wire, or a faulty injector, again, what additive would help that?

To make it simple, no.

No, the check engine light works off your ecu and monitors your emissions system. If the light comes on that indicates there is a potential problem with your emissions system.

Bring it to a shop and have the code scanned(Auto Zone will scan it for free) Replace the defective component.
No cleaners will clear the code. The code has to cleared with the scan tool.
You can disconnect your battery and turn key on for 20 sec.
That will clear the code.
