i brought it to the mechanic cuz the breaks wouldnt work.. the brake pedal went all the way down the the floor, and the car would only come to a small stop.. i could also hear some grinding

he called today.. said a spring broke?? that got ground up in the rotor? so i need a new rote caliper spring??
( i might be missing some things i know nothing about cars)

$400..

I just had my brakes pads and rotors replaced 5 months ago..

should i go to my old mechanic and complain or is this not related?

I'm pretty new to campervaning, what I would like to know is during the winter time when the campervan is laid up how can I stop condensation in the Engine compartment. i-e water laying on top of the inner wheal arch, I thought it was water getting past the rubber seal under the bonnet so I renewed the rubber seal and found it is condensation and not a leak. Can any body advise me.

Also I know I need to run the car for half an hour or so once it is up and running again; do I need to do this while driving out and about or can I just put my foot on the accelerator while in neutral for 30 minutes to recharge it?

I have just had my Ford Focus 1.8 petrol serviced at a Ford dealer and just checked my oil level after standing overnight and it is about 1/4 inch above the maximum mark on the dipstick. I checked it again after a few minutes driving and the level was obviously lower because the engine was hot, but something that concerns me is that I noticed a few bubbles in the oil. I am now thinking that the crankshaft may have whipped up the oil, or is this just normal to have some bubbles in the oil (perhaps more noticeable because the oil is very new ) ?

Ok so all of this work has been done including the fuel pump--would not start again tried this morning w9ould niot start--I could hear the fuel pump humm and stop so i put the key in again but did not try to start it just wanted to hear what I could and I could hear it hummm and then stop--got out of truck after it would not start--went to the back tapped gthe gas tank lonce on the left side, once in the middle and once on the right side. Got in truck started right up so back at mechaNICS.. does this sound like a faulty fuel was put in?????

well I justrecently bought a 1997 Acura NSX and I wanna make it as light as possible (from the outside), I've already switched the hood, Engine cover front and rear Bumper and Sides with Carbon Fiber components and switched the wheels with Magnesium Alloys and now I wanna know if Cabon Ceramic Disc's (as a whole including disc and pads and everything else) as an after market upgrade?, and does anybody know how much they cost I mean are they under 12 to 10 Grands $.

When i first bought the car, the A/C worked perfect, the guy said he just replaced the compressor, heater core, charged it, etc...., well on day i was driving on the highway, and i floored my gas to pass someone and the A/C stopped blowing cold, i heard of a car doing this sometimes, but the A/C never started blowing cold again, ever since then, when everything on the Temp control panel in the car is off, air comes from the vents like the fan is on low, the air is really hot when hot is selected on the temp control, and the air is room temp when its on the cold setting, but everything is turned off, i can hear the compressor click on when i turn it to "A/C", so could it possibly be that the door is stuck or actuator is messed up, im trying to sell my car HELP PLEASE!!!! thank you NOTE: when you switch the nob to floor or defrost and other settings they all work, but when on defrost or floor, you can still feel the little air coming from the dash vents, as i described earlier.

I recently purchased a pre-owned 2005 Saturn Relay. Since I've had it, I've had problems with it. I have taken it back to the dealership and supposedly they fixed whatever the problem was, but still I could not tell any changes. Now there is a new problem. Everytime I turn the ignition key it will start and then cuts off. I have to do this at least 2-3 times plus put my foot on the gas pad in order for the car to stay running. I am a single mom with 4 kids and right now repairing this car is not in my budget. I am trying my best to keep my cool and talk to the dealership again from which I purchased my vehicle from about this new problem. I wish there was law stating that the dealership is required by law to inform those purchasing a pre-owned vehicle what past problems the car has and what needs to be fixed on it. The dealership asured me that the car has been inspected thoroughly before even put back on the lot, but I am sure it wasn't. Can anyone tell me what could be causing

I have a 91 GMC sierra 2500 model. It use to run good. Until I park the car at my mom house and haven't start like 3 or more month. and now it not even crankin or starting at all. I replace the spark plug, check the battery and they good, but no crank. I was thinking maybe it was the alternator. or the battery. The auto store guy told me to try the carb. spraying can, and see if it work. But I think that not the problem. Can anyone help me? please. Other time when I drive the truck to my friend house and try to drive back home the car won't start, try jump start couple of times and about 1hrs later it start. I also check with the Tires LEswab for battery check up they said they battery are good. Any suggestion or things I need to fix my truck again? Also if you have the alternator can you let me know I buy it from you. thank.

I own a 07 honda civic, I was washing my car and then drying it quickly but noticed the front was hitting the sun, then the soap and w/e was in it dryed on my hood and left bad water spots. I cant get them off now. I washed it again then it didnt go away. A week later I washed it today and still there....

Can someone help me how to get rid of those water spots>,< thanks!

my car isn't starting and I have eliminated everything from battery to altinator to starter now I know its not any three of those things cause my radio, lights and power windows/locks work and it acts like it wants to turn over but doesn't start so could this possibly be a fuse for the fuel pump?

Ok - I know diddly squat about cars, but I have a 1971 VW camper van that when you run the thing, even in cold weather, and then shut it down - it has to COMPLETELY cool down before it will start again - sometimes 20 minutes to 2 hrs. later. What is the problem?

So a few weeks ago I was run off the road and popped my tire on a curb. I feel like this may have rattled something in my car. Now, when I hit high speeds (over 50) my steering feels loose. I feel unsafe and out of control if I hit 70mph. Also when I accelerate I hear a different noise from my engine than i did before. I feel as if there are multiple problems here. I had my car inspected and took it to the dealership. I have to make an appointment and leave my car for a day so before I do this does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Is my steering loose? whats wrong with my engine? how dangerous is this?

My oil light has been coming on for awhile but only when I go downhill. Tonight my engine made whirring noises, I checked and there was NO oil left. (It has always had a slow leak and I have no idea the last time it was filled.) I am walking to the gas station tomorrow to buy some oil to put in it, I read my instruction book how. My question is: after I put the oil in will my car be safe to drive? How do I know if I already blew up my engine? It didn't smoke.

i got 1995 lexus es300 , didnt start this morning after jump starting it , i took it to walmart , kragen even paid 20 bucks at pepboys to check whats wrong with my car , altenator , starter , battery came out good ,
came home turn off the car and it wont start again , been starting all day , fuses and relays are good , so whats wrong with my car. next step for is to take it down to dealership run a diagnose.

and I kept oil in it because I know I had a leak, but not a bad leak it seemed.

SO I get in it tonight and its making a loud noise, and sputtering, almost like a helicopter but not real loud. Riding really rough. It had a tune up last year and the only trouble I was having lately was the oil leak.

Could I have thrown a rod? and if so how much do they cost to fix?

I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer and the wipers start and stop on their own when the switch is turned on. I have heard about the controller board, but what is this and what should I try first before I replace the motor and all of that expensive stuff? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
