well I justrecently bought a 1997 Acura NSX and I wanna make it as light as possible (from the outside), I've already switched the hood, Engine cover front and rear Bumper and Sides with Carbon Fiber components and switched the wheels with Magnesium Alloys and now I wanna know if Cabon Ceramic Disc's (as a whole including disc and pads and everything else) as an after market upgrade?, and does anybody know how much they cost I mean are they under 12 to 10 Grands $.
your help will me more then appriciated, thank you very much.

lol nah man I am trying to make lighter so I can get extra power and make the car more agile.

How much weight do you think you would save anyway? Maybe 10 pounds or so? Don't forget that YOU are in the car when driving it so wouldn't it be easier to cut down on the twinkies and ding dongs? Or you could hermetically seal the trunk and fill it with helium.

Unless you intend to keep the car on the track 90% of the time light weight ceramic rotors are really not a viable option. A decent setup that will perform well both at the track and as a daily driver will include a good set of slotted/drilled rotors coupled with ceramic pads. If you really want to beef it up go with a complete brake kit from Baer Performance...this will include new lightweight high power 4 piston calipers as well.
You could do all 4 wheels for around $1,000 - $1,500 and increase braking power/cooling capacity by around 35-40%. You would also be reducing some weight. Keep in mind you don't want this car to lose too much, I'm not sure who is guiding you in that direction but unless you're dragging it you're really only sacrificing suspension quality and overall handling. The NSX needs some weight or the none of the suspension components will perform properly.
Go with a good performance brake package, ceramic pads only. You'll be happy with the outcome, guaranteed.

if it is a daily driver this is not the direction to go.. ceramic rotors are for heat dispersion, they are capable of resisting more heat than steel. so if you are going to be a serious roadracer using alot of brakes constantly then this would be a n option... but for weight reduction, no, this is not an answer.. please email me and tell me what you want to do with the car.. street racer? drifting? what,,,, drag racing? just street driving ? with alittle redlight to redlight action? this car is a investment, and keep in mind what te future is with your money, etc...

This is what i did,the hec with lighting it,instant power and it takes about 4 hr's to install,or all day depending and your car will be a rocket trust me.

The only reference I saw to the price of the brake system you want is $15,000.

Why lighten car are trying fly it/ cause it needs weight to stick to ground for faster traction...
