Starting in 1971, El Caminos were started to be given emissions controls, and designed for lower-octane fuel.

I believe 1974 was the first year for catalytic converters, along with electronic (point-less) ignition and standard radial tires, part of a system to increase fuel economy and and decrease emmissions.
1974 was the first, and only year of the awful government mandated seatbelt-starter interlock. ALL of these have since been legally disabled.

Please be specific.
Do you ask what emission systems and devices?
Do you mean what emission regulations?
Or do you mean what emissions does it produce?
