Rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth will remove the water spots and done gently will also buff the finish out beautifully.

A friend who enjoys detailing as a hobby told me to try it and I was even able to get light paint scuffs off of my car.

Vinegar should do it as the previous poster said or you can try a clay bar product like Meguiar's or Clay Magic from a parts store to remove the very top layer of clear coat and rewax. Water spots are like little craters in the paint.

To remove water spots from a painted surface, use a soft, cotton towel dampened with a little white vinegar. Other products can also be used. A product called Perfect Putty is designed to remove mineral deposit residue.
