the difference is that torque is rotational force and that tells you how fast you can accelerate

bhp is horsepower measured at the crankshaft and horsepower is 33,000 ft lbs of torque per hour so thsi tells you how fast you can go but weight is also a factor

To put it simply, horsepower is usually higher when your engine is running at a high RPM. This is where you get your speed after you are already moving .

Torque is measured more at a low RPM. This is what your car uses to get going from a stop light. It is kinda like brute force.
