If it is leaking close to the water pump, it is probably the water pump. There is a small hole in the water pump (usually hard to see) that is there to warn you when the pump is going out. The seal is in between where the water is supposed to be and on the other side is the hole, so when the seal goes bad, the pump leaks. Get is repaired immediately or you can do major damage to your vehicle.

could be the water pump. They come equipped with a seep hole that is the indicator of a faulty pump. Look real close. Coolant will travel down.

you should get it fixed ASAP
coolant keeps your engine cool
without it, you're engine will blow and it'd cost you a pretty penny
many times more than a simple water pump replacement
if its a huge leak, i'd get it towed to the mechanics shop instead of driving it, just to be on the safe side
also, it's illegal to drive with a coolant leak because
-could cause other vehicles to skid
-dangerous for the enviornment

Mean a GMC? i'd recomend checking waterpump? see if its working, also double check tightness of bolts... and look at freeze plugs too?
