Oil pressure gauge or oil pressure warning light.

Either an oil pressure warning light or an oil pressure gauge. A gauge is more accurate in noting the actual pressure whereas a light simply warns when the oil pressure drops below a certain threshold.

I can think of three ways, not two.
1: the oil light is off
2: you don't hear the engine rattling
3: the engine is still running. Most cars use a safety switch that kills the fuel pump if there's no oil pressure.
