They can test the alteranator to make sure it is working right.

If your battery is deader than a door nail then the car may stall due to a bad battery. Pull out the battery and jump it without a battery under the hood and see if it jumps and runs when disconnected.

Bad batteries can cause all kinds of odd problems.

first off, dont run car without battery. will screw up alternator. almost any alternator u buy is rebuilt. on occasion there will be a bad one or even a bad batch. u can take off alt. and take to advance auto and they will test it for free as well as the battery. its possible that u fried the battery by running it down to nothing and now it has a short and will not hold a charge. dont sweat it, testing is free. good luck. rob

A. check all your fuses, you may have a issue with a ground also

B. If your battery is drained, your new alternator may not be able to take it on. Though that is unlikely

Have the Battery & Alternator - LOAD - Tested !!! not just a Voltage check !!!

Look like you just get brand new bad alternator.Autozone famous with that kind of stuff.
