ok so i drove my car one night and it was fine and then the next day when it was started it began to misfire and the check engine light is on, i had a diagnostic done and it said there were multiple random misfires, i got new plugs that didnt fix it, had the wires checked they are fine. the fuel filter is not dirty i checked it. i dont think its the injectors what are the possibilities of it being the coil? i just want to know before i go spending a lot of money on a part that i cant take back. thanks!

This does sound like your coil pack went bad since it was one of those "just happened out of the blue" problems. HAppened to me on the way home from work one day and I had spark that would jump six inches when I pulled one wire off the distributor and zero inches when I pulled another wire off the distributor. Had an old coil laying around the garage and this fixed it.

Good Luck!

the coils would have their own code. I would go ahead and replace the wires anyway especially if they are near or over 100,000 miles on them. You may just have water in the fuel. and same thing with the fuel filter. just replace it because you just can't look at it and tell if iot is clogged or not. hope this helps.

I would run some GOOD Fuel Injection cleaner through it & some GOOD gas that has a additive in it !!

had the wires checked they are fine.....are you sure?how you check them?by the look?nonsense!Beside wires and plugs could be injector(s) or ignition coil.
