I have a Scion TC which has about 161 horsepower. I want to make it to about 200-250. How would i do it and how much would you think it would cost? And also by adding more horsepower does it damage the car?

Thanks for the help

I have a 1997 Pontiac Trans Am. For some reason my defroster is fogging up my windows. The defroster blows hot air and the heater works but the windows fog up so bad I have to pull over to clean off the windows to see. Driving with the windows down does not help either. Any suggestions on how I can fix this issue.

In the last year I have had the radiator, all the hoses and heater core flushed and or replaced.

Recently I bumped into my friends car (a fairly new 2004-5) SUV. It was backed into at a slow speed (about 4-7 mph) and left a two small cracks in the bumper. Also the bumper is slightly crooked. I would like to have both ideas on how much it would have to cost me whether the bumper is replaced, or isnt replaced.

I'm restoring an old car and need to identify some threads but i can't seem to find and info on thread sizes and some threads are actually in the car bodywork so can't be taken to a shop and matched. Has anyone got any thread sizing charts, or know where i can download them from. I mainly need the overall diameters and tpi (threads per inch).
I've also got some pipe fittings running through the chassis rails that need new fitting and these need identifiying insitu also.
Some way also me metric as they have been altered in the past.
Any help much appriciated

I have a TH 350 trans in a '76 Vette. We put a new carb and intake on. It shifts into 2nd too soon now. The kickdown cable on the carb doesn't seem to be adjusted too short. I suspect a vacuume problem, as the new set up is producing a lot more vacuume than before. I don't know if that can be adjusted even if that is the problem. Any ideas?

I was told by someone selling a 97 Chevy Blazer that the freeze plugs are bad. What the heck are freeze plugs and if they are bad he said it will need a new engine. Is that accurate? If it can be fixed w/o a new engine what will it cost?

Consumer Reports lists 59 used cars as good bets. The ratings are based upon the overall performance of the cars with respect to reliability as well as other factors. Of the 59 cars, 4 are American designed and manufactured:1. Buick Regal 2. Chevrolet Prizm 3. Lincoln Town Car 4. Pontiac Vibe. The remaining 55 are all Japanese designed cars - some of which are actually assembled in the United States! So why can't American manufacturers make an equally good product? This has been the case for decades and despite the claims of parity, there doesn't appear to be a significant gains in overall quality.

About 2000 miles ago the low coolant light in my car came on, It was time for an oil change so I took it in the next morning (to the dealer) and told them the light was on. After looking at it they said it was just a hair low and that they didn't see a leak, they topped it off and said they didn't think it was anything to worry about. Today the light came on again and I stopped at a Monro Muffler store and asked if they could add coolant - they did, but said there is obviously a slow leak somewhere - nothing is showing underneath, but I realize that it's not normal. with the holidays coming i'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if I continue to add coolant if it needs it, if it could wait 6 weeks or so to determine the cause of the leak. It could be something small like a hose, I realize, but fear it's something quite expensive - I have no money right now and I really don't know of a garage that offers a payment plan. Anyone else experienced this or have advice

I have a 96 plymouth mini van, it was over heating so I had a new thermostat put on and that took care of the problem, but that wasnt the only problem, its leaking antifreeze, but its not leaking onto the ground, I have had 3 different people look at it. You can smell it burning off of something when I'm driving it, but there is never a wet spot on the ground after I park it. We have checked the oil thinking maybe it was a head, but there is nothing but oil there. We have checked the floor boards to see if it was the heater core and nothing there either. I am having to put on average a gallon of water in it every other day or 2. I am a single mother who just lost her child support(he dissappeared) and our company just cut everyones hours I can afford to take it someone where right now. Anyone have any ideas????

I have a cyl. #4 misfire. It has spark. Their is electrical current to the injector. If a cylinder has spark and fuel how else can the computer tell that #4 is misfiring. The O2 sensor is common to all three cylinders in the rear bank. -It is 99 GM 3.8L V6-
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
