Anyone know the approximate pressure inside an engine cylinder immediately after it has been detonated by the spark? In other words, the maximum pressure that ever develops inside the cylinder?

It would depend on the volume of the cylinder, how much gas and O2 was in the cylinder, and also the compression ratio will all play into your answer.

Compression is the term....and it varies for different engines. Need to check a service manual for your specific application.
