A fuel pump failure will usually set no engine codes and you may get no advanced signs or warnings. Sometimes the pump will give you warning signs that it is about to go but unless you are in tune with your vehicle you may not notice them until after the fact. Signs of pumps in the failure mode include a change in the sound produced by your pump and engine stumbling due to lack of fuel.

Noise is a key indicator, is it louder than normal??
Heat causes pump failure also. Keeping your tank above 1/2 full helps keep the pump fully submerged and relatively cool.

Sputtering of lack of power is also a sign but dont forget the fuel filter too.

Have a pressure test on the pump and you won't have to guess. What is your problem and maybe get a better answer
