no pressure shuld be thare. when oil comes in contact with it it is because it drains from a journal above it. pressure would only be thare if the pcv velve is stuck shut, i love the awnsers people give on here, and a hats off to the top contributer

Anything over 15-20 psi.

The rear main seal doesn't really have oil pressure against it, from the oil pump anyway! The rear main seal will have crank case pressure against it, this is what makes the seal leak, if that is what you are asking! Depending on the ware of the engine the crank case pressure could be higher than the oil pressure in the motor! But you would see oil being blown back up the oil stick first!

Karly most of the times the oil pressures are between 30 and 45 psi while driving the car, oil should be getting all around the entire block and if there is any malfunctions the first signs are low oil pressures caused by the following 1. worn valve guides2. noisy oil pump or a pump that is wearing out. 3.half or nearly all spark plugs coated with oil constantly.4.clouds of blue smoke either after starting it or while driving it around anywhere. Now you know OK GOOD LUCK

anywhere from 15-25 pounds ,but that wont be on the rear main seal if it was it would blow it out, there only a slight amount that actually comes in contact with the seal.the main part of the oil pressure travels through the oil journals in the engine and crank shaft, and on through the engine, ten pounds directly on a seal would blow it out, good luck on it.

what are you talking about...you could be refering to anything...but if there is an oil pressure of 350, then is should have the same pressure on any enclosed container, no matter where the seal is.

350??? I hope you are talking about a 350cid and not 350psi! lol

The rear seal has minimal pressure on it, but leaks like a garden hose if installed improperly.

350 psi would easily bust the oil filter casing.
