What could you possibly add on that would give a V8 better mpg? Nothing that I know off....ease off the gas, try to brake less, go slowly off the line, that's about it.

There's nothing you can add to the engine that will help it (or at least nothing that would cost less than what you'd actually save in fuel).
The best case if you buy an addon is that you get no change and at worst you may damage your engine. Pretty much everything sold aftermarket is a fraud.

Higher gear ratio in the differential(s). Nothing else will even come close. You lose a bit of oomph, though.
Nothing is free in terms of fuel consumption...everything either requires effort, more money spent on maintenance, or costs you performance elsewhere.

depends on the engine
what make and size? what is it in?
is it fuel injected?or carburetor
how has the maintenance , all up to date?
how are the plugs , wires fuel filter?
what kind of shape is the transmission in?
how many miles on the engine?
is it stock or modified?
air filter? need more info
////////
platinum aftermarket plugs
low restriction exhaust
cotton washable air filter(probably best bang for buck)
do not mess with differential ratio, this will be set up for as good as you can balance mileage and power from engineers a lot smarter than us

A lighter foot on the gas pedal is best and it is free.
