it drove home fine the guy just told us it would need an oil change and new spark plugs/ wires and we would be good to go. The inspection was done last month so we felt good about it. Well after my husband OVERFILLED the oil by a quart or so it started smoking (we were arguing if it was white or blue) no sweet smell, a fuel smell. He corrected his mistake ( I had driven it maybe 8 miles no higher than 45 mph) It goes away after the car warms up and is driven about a 1.5. Then he checks the radiator and it appeared to be low or just about empty, so he added water to the brim. The next morning I drove the car, t smoked again like normal and then went away. Well I decided to try the AC, since he converted and charged, then the temp gauge is going up, so I turn the AC off and drive the 1/4 mile home, it never went all the way to hot and when I parked it went back to norml.but when I got out of the car I noticed water from the st. to the driveway. Overflow tank full and not flowing back to

Is their a solution? Chip monks get under the hood of my
car, (Buick) and chew my fuel in jecter wire, Machanic tells me
these wires are coated with peanut oil! Chips have done this four times in last two years, 45.00 each time plus the inconvience, Fella told me to put moth balls under my car, all they do is spill the container! Have you ever heard of this before and is there a cure you hve come up with. I thank you for any and al l, SERIOUS ANSWERS.

How can I make a go cart not run just for the time being? I don't really wanna tear it up for good. I just want it to where it can be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing. I don't wanna sugar the tank. I have a 25 yr old hubby who acts childish so I want to rig it where it wont work. I'm not being mean you'd have to see it to know why. Thanks.

I have a Ford F-250 diesel 2004 Right after the warranty ran out ,the engine lost power and smokes out of tailpipe.I was told it was a defective part to bring it in to Ford Midwet City Ok they replaced their defective part and charged me 1343.00 labor.A week later it was doing the same thing ,Brought it back and they put it on the computer for 90.00,said there was nothing wrong , I left there and did not make it 15 miles when the light came on and I lost the gauges, lights, radio EVERYTHING, I limped into Joe Cooper Ford in Shawnee Ok (where I purchased this $40,000 truck ) which they replied your alternator is fried!! They said it was just a fluke that it happened right after their truck service dept put it on their computer. It is sitting in their parking lot unless I want them to fix it for another $400.00.I need to talk to someone with some kind of authority at Ford, the service people are of NO help and I just don't know where to look anymore at this point .

okay, my husband put a quart and a half in, which put it at full. 2 days later, he put in the other half, and still needed more. no puddles anywhere. then the next day..... I start the van (yes, it started)I got a kinda shaky, vibration and noise (which is not normal) check engine light was on. I put it into drive and then it died and absolutely NO oil pressure. It will start, it dies right after it starts though...anyone have any idea what it could be?

okay...I checked out the van, and this is what I observed...
the dipstic has oil on it, plenty, I wouild say, no milky white stuff on it. Been sitting for 3 days and there is no puddle of oil or anything, however the oil filter has oil on it, like its been dripping off of it. ( we are probably due for an oil change, we do change the oil fairly regularly)
I don't know if this info is helpful or not...

I have a 1972 GMC Custom 1500 pick-up. I want to replace vacuum advance canister on distributor. The screws are attached under distributor [plate?]. How can I remove screws, without the risk of dropping them down distributor? Also, they look impossible to get to. Can I move plate, some how, to make it easier to get to screws?

Thank-you,

Keith

I have a (used) 28", 10hp riding snapper mower and when i bought it it was just fine, after i used it like 4 or 5 times the battery died, why did this happend?, i took it to a shop and they charged it for free, and it was fine for another 3 or 4 times more, and then dead!, now i take the keys out every time i don't use it and i just don't know why would this be happening!!
Know i asked the people from the shop and basicaly they want me to take it in (off-course, it's their business) since they say that it could be 1000 different things (not sure), now my question is, and this is only my guess ok?, on the rear there's a red wire coming from the starter i think and the end had a plug but it's gone, it's this red wire supposed to be hooked to the main cable (the fat one coming from the battery)?
I just don't know since i bought it used so i'm not sure, and if it's not that, any other ideas why the battery it's not keeping it's charge?, or what it the hell it that red wired for? Thanks!-

Bought a new 4 wd diesel DID, collected 4 days ago. I have noticed chucking sound as i try to slow down at traffic lights or speed bumps. if i try to stop and apply the brakes, only during first 30 mins of driving i have heard this noise. I have noticed that pedestrians standing by notice the same as i see them turn around to look. I know they're checkin out the car ...;) but this is worrying as the car is barely 6 mths old. HELP!

When it started, I found the antifreeze is milky, so, I backwashed the radiator, replaced waterpump, thermostat...ran fine for several days, overheat came back, so, I replaced radiator. Thought it fixed, 6 weeks later, it started overheating again. I checked the antifreeze, clear, the fans are working. I installed a meter, the readout is about 250 when overheated. The compression pressure is 175, 180, 175, 178 pretty good. I love the car and would like to keep it as long as I can, anyone knows what could be wrong?

If a car has about 70k or more on mileage, what can I do to make it better? Do I have to change the engine or change different parts? Cause any part in a car is replaceable. What makes a component in a car makes the high mileage bad?

A few days ago (9/5/07) I went into the Wal-mart in Albuquerque,NM for a oil change. Well while they were doing a oil change I notice the service tech putting in 7qts of oil in my 95'Jeep Grande Cheeoke(Straght 6/ 4.0L). I went in the tec bay and asked him what the hell he was doing? He claimed that the dip stick showed that it still needed another qt. Well after aruging with the them over twenty min to take out one qt.I finnly had enought and paid for a oil change with extra oil. Well to make along story shorter. I still have seven qts of oil in my six qt engine. I have driven about four hundred mile and have to drive another 50 to the dealer to get another oil change. Besides another oil change what should I ask the the dealer to do. Should the dealer do to a compression test or what.? On the second question I now know the answer. ONE IS TO MANY!!! DONT LET WAL-MART CLOSE TO YOUR F****** CAR, TRUCK, OR SUV.
