How can I make a go cart not run just for the time being? I don't really wanna tear it up for good. I just want it to where it can be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing. I don't wanna sugar the tank. I have a 25 yr old hubby who acts childish so I want to rig it where it wont work. I'm not being mean you'd have to see it to know why. Thanks.

Remove the fuel line & slide an object inside such as a stub of a pencil or a ball bearing & then reattach.

If it is a newer engine you can take the oil out.
Newer engines have a safety device which shuts the engine down when low on oil.

You can take the plug out and smack it on the ground - no more spark.

Block the fuel line with something then reattach it.

Take the drive chain off

unhook the steering arm - remove the gear on the end and reinstall - it will still run but wont steer at all.

Remove the spark plug & break the ground prong off. Then reinstall the plug.

If you can remove the spark plug and tap the prong to hit the middle one that will touch them together.

Replace and tighten it back on.

Have fun!!!!
