and car started making noise, stopped to put oil in, check engine light went off, continued driving, but then white smoke started coming from underneath hood and I broke down in front of rental car agency - ha ha. When AAA towed my car a serpentine belt fell off so we thought we just had to replace that. Replaced belt and started car and took oil cap off oil then sprayed out at high velocity. And engine is now making a tapping noise. Any ideas?

I have had a sprinkler system and hot sun hit my car for weeks. I, through research and a lot of elbow grease, have managed to get the calcium stains off my black paint, but am having problems getting the circular hard water stains off of my windows and windshield. I have tried vinger based products, CLR, newspaper buffing, and other methods. I am wary about using a #0000 pad because I am afraid that I might scratch the glass. Any thoughts and suggestions would be welcome.

1999 F150. Driving yesterday and radio started going out, gauges died, windows wouldn't go up and, wiper wpould wipe once. I would turn on my headlights and radio started working. Windows never did. Like a gremlin in the electronics. Today it was totally dead. I jumped it and it started and ran but went off. Jumped again and tried lights and it died dead. Battery?

my boyfriends truck always shakes a lot when he drives it. mainly on the front right wheel. he's bringing it in the shop today and i was wondering if the alignment would have to do with it always acting like that. he always has to pull over when he drives and i'm worried about his safety. thanks in advance.

Recently, for some reason, it started acting differently. The steering wheel acts "tighter" and the car doesn't turn very easily, especially the right side. Mostly the right side. Anytime I try to turn to the right it's like my car just doesn't want to, and I have to fight to make it. I stopped driving it until I figure out what's wrong because I don't want to make it worse. I have plenty of power-steering fluid, and my wheels are still pointing the same direction. However, I sort of suspect it might have something to do with the frame or the axel? I don't know much about cars, but yeah, if anyone does, I'd love any advice. Also, any notion of whether my car is repairable, and how much it may cost, if it is something to do with the axles or frame or something like that?

A couple days ago I had to change the left rear caliper on my '95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme using a Murray's refurbished replacement. After replacing it I used one of those one-man bleed kits to bleed the two rear calipers. When done I took her out for a test drive but noticed the brakes felt spongy and weak; the pedal seemed to have too much play.

Well of course I figured there was still air left in the lines and I'd have to bleed the system again. But when I drove the car the next morning the brakes felt firm and solid! Since the brake lines can't bleed themselves I figured some nice car elves must have dropped by during the night and did all the work for me. How thoughtful of them! What's the best way for me to thank them for their kindness?

I had my brake light on for a week ... then added more brake fluid. The brake light didn't go off until the next day.

I had my engine linght on, got it checked ... the fixed the problem (spark plugs) NO MORE STUTTERING CAR!!! :) But the engine light is still on. Should I just wait like brake light?

Ok bought a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2 months ago. Had vibration in steering wheel. Replaced the two front tires( back ones were new). That helped. But still have a slight vibration in steering wheel. Took to repair shop everything ok. Could it be there tires? They are Good year wrangles. I have heard bad things about Good Year. Any suggestions? Also took back to tire shop to make sure they were balanced correctly.

I have got a 1961 landrover which has had the dynamo replaced with an alternator by a someone. I am having problems with the battery running flat. I have got the Haynes manual but the wiring digrams are not very clear. The one with the alternator shows an earth and 2 other wires, are these both live? What does the voltage stabiliser look like and where would it fit? The diagrams show a resistor in the heater plug circuit where does that go? Thanks very much.

I was curious how long a ford 2.3L 4 cyl engine would last. The one im looking at is fairly new with 55k on it but what is the max life of an engine before it becomes to costly to upkeep.

I'm looking for some good quality oil that I can mix 32:1 with premium gasoline. The motor is a 2-stroke 52cc (basically a chainsaw motor). The motor is only about 3 days old, but I need to buy more oil. I want some oil that will extend the life of my scooter. I don't know if synthetic oil would be a good choice, or if some other kind of oil would be a better choice?

Thank you.

We replaced the coolant temperature sensor, and it still only works with the AC on. Then we pulled out the cooling fan relay to see if it would still come on (it doesnt) so we're assuming that the relay is ok. Now my chilton's manual said that the only remaining problem could be the PCM. I havent been able to locate it in my book, or find a replacement part on the NAPA website. Should I replace the relay anyways? and if it's not the relay do i take it to the mechanic or is fixing this PCM (power control module) easy?
