Modern cars motors outlast the power windows and wheel bearings 10 times the brake pads and you will get tired of the car before a correctly maintained engine will last in your used Mazda ford volvo product. Air filters and oil changes are key to long engine life. I have a customer with a well maintained 1999 3.0 liter v-6 Nissan Maxima with over 500,000 miles never a wrench has touched the motor. Belts hoses oil changes air filter shock asorbers and radatior. It gets driven 145 miles each way every day to and from work. They really like living in the country. And they use Mobil 1 motor oil and change it monthly.

It depends on alot of factors. One of my nieces cars has a Dodge not sure on the engine size. Several repair shops told her the engine she has in her car usually lasted no more then 80,000 and then it had to be rebuilt or a new one put in. They were right.

Like i said it depends---Do you gun the engine alot, do you do regular maintenance on it, do you check fluids when you are suppose to and the list can go on and on.
