I'd like to heat it up and try to vice grip it off but its so rusted on there and stripped I can't get a grip on it.

My Questions are:
What kind of torch?
Where can I buy it?

I tried: Vice Grips, Wrench's, Hammer, Screw Driver, Hack Saw, WD40, and a Pipe Wrench. It is completely rounded. What do I do? This is frustrating! Please give me ideas. Thanks.

I have a 79 Datsun/Nissan 280 zx that I am trying to put back in working order! I just had the engine rebuilt. We just got it back, we drove it this afternoon, and tried to start it about 5 hours later and Nothing! The lights were Off and there is no radio. It appears the starter was in the off position. Can anyone offer me any tips or suggestions on where to start to find the problem? Thanks.

It was doing this before, and I replaced the ignition. It worked for a little bit, but then it started doing it again. Sometimes it can take up to 15 frustrating minutes to get the key out. I have had people look at it, but no one knows what is causing the problem. My car is in Park when I try this.. I have tried several different keys, and I do try to move the steering up and down but it rarely helps. I would leave the Key in the ignition, and just lock it and use another key to open the door, but the lights stay on on the dashboard when the key is in the ignition, and this would drain my battery to leave the key in the ignition.

I recently took a "lemon" to a mechanic and he advised not to buy it because the transmission was slipping. In the process of talking with him he said that one of his employees had a car that he wanted to sell. This is when I received the offer of the '97 Lumina. I asked the mechanic if the car had a/c and he said that it was leaking and did not know how much trouble it would be to fix it. I figured "if" you are a mechanic then why would it be "trouble" to fix it? I think that he was going to try and hit me up for more money if he fixed the a/c. What do you think? Thanks again for your help.

My family took a trip in 2003 Sienna and noticed that the the seats in the back were shaking a lot. A couple of minutes later the low pressure warning light lit. My dad added more air into all 4 tires to the recommended psi and the warning light was gone. On the trip home the same thing happened with the warning light and the shaking (which never stopped even after my dad added more air). my dad checked the pressure again, and they were at the right amount. The car was just balanced a month or two ago and there's no holes in my tires, and the bolts on the tires are on tight (my dad said). Does anyone have any suggestion on what he should check? Thanks in advance.

Does spark occur in each electrode with equal intensity as the single electrode? From what I know about electricity, unless you drastically increase the secondary voltage, say from 20K volts to 80k volts, the expected spark from each of the four electrodes will be 1/4 the intensity. No free lunch you know.

I drive a 1987 Ford Thunderbird (V6 3.8L)

The radiator keeps leaking on me pretty bad. I have tried to use the sealant stuff in a bottle from Prestone & BARS, but it seems to just be a temporary solution before it's ultimately leaking again.

Where do I go for a replacement radiator? How much should I spend? Any advice would be helpful, I don't know a whole lot about cars. Thanks!

Alright, 1997 Chrysler Concorde. Took off the radiator and flushed it, changed both upper and lower radiator hoses. At the time, I figured I would see if I could also flush the flow of water through the engine. I stuck a hose in the thermostat housing and it flowed through...So I took it off to change the thermostat, and someone had removed it totally. So I put a new thermostat, new thermostat housing, both radiator hoses, and flushed the radiator. The coolant reservoir isn't leaking, but the cap is. However, it is still overheating, just not as quickly. The water pump is working, the top hose gets hot. I am thinking there is a possible clog in the return line from the reservoir to the engine/radiator, but does anyone else have any ideas? After changing everything (also new coolant, 1gal concentrated, rest water) it idled for a while, but the coolant bottle never dropped the level. It stayed full completely. Any ideas? Fans work, thermostat is within temp range. Properly bled radiator.

I was putting some motor oil in my car yesterday and I spilt a few drops onto the top of the engine itself. I wiped it up but some residue must have remained because when I got home and checked under the bonnet, there was smoke coming from where I had spilt the oil. Is this going to cause a problem or will the oil just burn itself out without any damage? I know I should have been more careful when I poured the oil, I feel like an idiot and have already invested in a funnel for the future! All help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's the kind you've got to get out with an allen wrench. When I was trying to get it out the first time it stripped out the inside where the allen goes. The next size allen up won't fit and the one i was trying to use just turns around freely in the bolt. Any ideas of how to get the bolt out now?

I have a gallon container (half full) of Prestone Antifreeze and a gallon container (3/4 full ) of Prestone purified water. I bought these about 14 years ago. Can I still use these to top the coolant level in my car from time to time ? . Is there really any such thing called expiry date on these things ? Thanks for your responses in advance !!!

I have been trying for 4 days now to get a timing belt pulley wheel on the bottom of the engine off. There is a 18mm bolt on the pulley that is stubborn and wont come off. I have used a ratchet set with a 24 inch extender bar. I have used a Torque wrench, I have used an impact wrench, and I have even used a standard 3/8's ratchet socket wrench with a 5 foot bar, and still no budging. any ideas? BTW I did spray it with WD-40 and it still wont budge even the slightest, and I even tried to impact it by tightening and loosening it, and still nothing, if I cant figure something out, I am tempted to try a breaker bar, but I dont want to break the bolt... need advice!
