I have Mercedes 190E, 2.6 (year 1991)..Car heats up, when I turn on the AC. The gauge goes 100 and beyond. When I turn off the AC, it goes down to 80. The AC seems to be cooling off, but not enough. Of course, the weather in Omaha is quite hot right now.
What could be the problem? The cost of repair is so high, I will appreciate any tip, guidance, advice to fix it cheaply. I can be at least prepared to talk to the mechanic, who should not be able to fool me.
Thanks guys. Have a great day.
Poor Merc owner.

OK, I'm a pretty quick study, and know my fair share of stuff, however, I've got a conundrum.

How in the world do make the fuel pump stay on without the engine running?

I've got a full tank of gas, and a blown engine and don't want to donate it with $60.00 worth of gas in it.

Assuming that my battery is new and if i leave my car for 3 weeks without starting the engine, will the battery die off and need jump start?

If so, how long i need to start the engine in order to make it fully charged again?

Is this possible to make this work?I did read that you only need to install attachment for gasoline or diesel engines to run your car on water and BEST of all you can leave all existing car parts untouched.

Here at http://www.publicsurfnet.com/caronwater you can find information on how to get your car run on water.

Do you think there is downside to this?Is this safe anyway?

Sedan Deville with all new starting and charging system, wires, fuses, etc. are good. Car still will not start! Car began to get picky about 7 months ago, once or twice a week wouldn't start, but if you gave it a few mins. and tried again, it fired right up. Now just nothing, no crank at all. When you turn the key it's like trying to start a car with a dead battery, but that is obviously not the problem. Could the issue be with the key/ignition computer chip? The owner works at a cement plant, so it is very dusty. We thought it might be having an effect on the contact, or the reading of the chip in the key.

hello, i have 1992 nissan maxima. there is 2 wires attached to the positive side of the battery. the smaller wire seems to get very hot after i start the car. also when i disconnect that smaller wire the engine idles a little higher. then when i reconnect the engine idles a little slower and the wire gets hot again. also when i disconnect that wire, my brake light comes on. i step on the brake and i hear a click coming from my shifter and the light goes out. very confusing but i think i may have a short or something. to make things simple, i have a wire coming from my positive side on my battery that gets hot. does anyone know where the wires go from the positive side of the battery on a 1992 nissan maxima. thank you

Have an International truck with a gas carbureted engine. The left saddle tank fuel pump has quit working. Would like to replace the in-tank original fuel pump with an external fuel pump. The external fuel pump would have to draw from the bottom of the tank to the top of the tank. Was wondering if a fuel pump with a 4-7 lb. pressure rating would draw from the bottom of the tank all the way to the top of the tank and to the carburetor?

Ok my car was running fine. I got to work and as i was parking it the battery light came on and the windows went up very slowly. I turned the car off and tried turning it on again. It didn't work. I let the car sit there for a little and tried restarting it, and it worked. I then turned it off and went to work. When I left the car started fine. I was driving home and the battery light came on. The lights and radio went out and then the power stearing went. A few seconds later the car died. I was able to push it to the curb and i tried starting it again, but it didn't work. It's a '99 mazda 626 6 cylinder. Is the battery just dead? Please help it is the only car I have at the time and i need it.

MY ABS light has been on for a while now, the previous owner, a person i for the most part can trust, said after he changed the front brakes the light came on. maybe he damaged the sensors there while doing the brakes, ive heard these are cheap, but on top of the whole ABS modulator thing appears to be leaking brake fluid. Well i know im leaking fluid, couple drops a day, but im thinking its from the ABS controller, between the front right tire and headlight, the fluid leaks onto the ground. How can i check wher its leaking from, its hard to see, and where can i buy sensors or whatever i may need. a junkyard may have the sensors im told. Ive asked a couple ?'s about my car recently, its a 1992 Nissan Maxima ive had for two months. Thanks in advance!

I could still start the engine the next day after jump start... I then run the engine at idle at 2000rpm for about 10 minutes. Anyway, now, after a week, the car is total dead with nothing on...not even the central locks, lights, brake signals at dasboard...

I ve been told by many auto savvy people that when a car gets old and has a lot of miles you shouldnt change the trans fluid or it may not shift anymore? why is this?

I just had my brakes done the first time on this car. The dealer was overpriced at $300 for the fronts. The brakes had plenty of pad left so the rotors were not bad. I think they said they wouldn't turn the rotors. I got a lower cost guy instead of the dealer for $140 but he was going to do the rotors. But I had to think that he wanted to do the rotors so that the next time he could sell me new rotors. Can you put on new pads without turning the rotors. I probably could have done the new pads myself for hardly anything.

1999 Chevy S-10, 107000 miles. Recently, when idling (in park or in drive) my interior lights and my headlights get dim. My battery gauges drops to about 12 volts (I know that with the car running, the gauge should be around 14v). When I pull away, applying power to the engine, the gauge goes back to 14v, and the lights return to normal. Until I reduce power to the engine and idle again, then the problem returns.

Is this a problem with the battery or the alternator?

all right call me a retard. it all started last weekend when i hit a big *** rock with my lawnmower. it started to vibrate very badly. i changed the blade and it still vibrated too badly to mow with on a continued bases so i figured that the crank was bent and i was going to have to trash it. so why not blow up the engine anyway. well me and a friend pored dawn dish soap in to the oil (almost a half of a bottle i mean hell if your going to do somthing might as well do it good) before i started it i decieded to take the blade back off and at least have an extra for my next mower. well after i started it without be blade and with the dish soap (the exaust smelled like soap) i noteced that there was no vibration. i looked at the new blade and it was warped so i got another new blade and tried it fixed my problem so now how do i get all the soap out of my oil and return my lawnmower into a working member of my family of lawnmowers?
