You should not steam clean your engine. You risk ripping something up and destroying it.

Just clean with some degreaser (make sure engine is completely cold) and brush, and rinse off with running water (LOW pressure).

Why don't you do this yourself? Go to any wand type self car wash and pressure soap everything under the hood of the car and rinse with clear water. Do not bother spraying the under-hood insulation sound mat. It will remain wet and will "bleed off dirt" on your clean motor and under-hood.

I've been doing this for 43 years and will absolutely be sure you'll be more than satisfied with the slick clean results. I had to revisit my suggestion. You will not, "rip anything to pieces."

There's absolutely no need to spend money on spray on water soluble decreasing products on the engine compartment in your own driveway. When you rinse it off with a garden hose a stinking foul kerosene smell will stand in your blacktop driveway not to mention the under-hood smell as soon as you start the motor.
