Carman Nguyen is correct.

Resetting the light is not part of a normal service, unless you have it done at the dealership. Most independent shops will not do it, unless you ask and they happen to know how it is done!

Toyota, in their infinite wisdom, decided not to put this information in the owner's manual, and it is not in many of the databases that independent shops use! They want you to come back to the dealer for service, and if you need to have the light reset, they get a chance to try to sell you the services there!

Spacedude4's comment about the mechanic needing to learn to be more careful is wrong. If you want the light reset, you can pay dealership prices, or you can do it yourself!

Make sure the odometer is displayed, not "TRIP"
when the ignition is on.
Press and hold the TRIP reset button
Turn the ignition key on when holding the reset button until the odometer reading comes back.

Take it back, he should be able to do it while you wait. By you doing it, the mechanic doesn't learn that he needs to be mroe careful! Call your Service Advisor and he will schedule an appointment and the mechanic will do it while you wait.
