There are two different ways that they were attached. It either has a set screw holding it to the base or a spring lock. You will be able to see the set screw on the mirror bracket. If not screw is found, insert a thin metal object like a knife blade between the base lug and the mirror bracket and slide the lug out of the bracket. Go to the parts store and buy a rearview mirror reattachment kit and follow the instructions.

on most rear view mirrors there is usually a very small torx head screw that clamps the base of the rear view mirror to the metal mount that is glued directly to the windshield. loosen the srew and it should slide right off. if the metal base ends up coming off the windshield make sure you use a glue that is specifically made for windshield's, its very cheap and can be found at any auto store.

There is a small set screw holding the mounting base on the mirror. Just loosen the screw, and it should slide out. Then just glue it back to the windshield with the proper glue.

When you use the mirror adhesive kit from Autozone, don't smear too much or it won't stick. Use just a drop like they say in the instructions and hold it firmly there for the time they say (3 minutes?). Then let it sit there without a mirror for 24 hours like they say in the instructions. If it falls off, do it all again, eventually it will work. Krazy Glue will not work.

If you do need to glue it, don't use super-glue like somebody else suggested, Your mirror is likely to detach again. Go to an auto parts store, get rear view mirror glue, and follow the directions exactly. If you do it right, that will work. Good luck.

If the base still attached it should just slide back on and may lock/click. If not, something may be broke and you may find one in a junk yard, just be sure you know how to remove it so it not get broke too. All I know.
