Sedan Deville with all new starting and charging system, wires, fuses, etc. are good. Car still will not start! Car began to get picky about 7 months ago, once or twice a week wouldn't start, but if you gave it a few mins. and tried again, it fired right up. Now just nothing, no crank at all. When you turn the key it's like trying to start a car with a dead battery, but that is obviously not the problem. Could the issue be with the key/ignition computer chip? The owner works at a cement plant, so it is very dusty. We thought it might be having an effect on the contact, or the reading of the chip in the key.

Does the securrity light in the dash come on when you try to start the car?

Try spraying the lock cylinder with WD 40 and after five minutes try to start it again! If sounds like a problem withe the security chip in the key!

First off when you say it's like a dead car, dose it have radio or lights. you could have a fusible link, or master fuse blow if the battery is hot and every thing is dead, also while working with another Caddi I came across a locked up AC compressor that did not allow the engine to turn what so ever - if this is the case remove the belt and see if it starts. Just spend a little time getting more details about the characteristic's of the no start problem, then ask again... I'm sure we can help!!
