Need Gear ratio help.Have a 1988 Silverado 4X4 with a broke axel.These numbers are stamped on the ring gear (1 gm 1235128 12 41 2 88) and was told the gear ratio was in these, but i'm lost and in need of help. THANKS.

Divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion. Clean the gears with carb .cleaner and mark a starting tooth with a white china marker.

12 is the # of teeth on the pinion 41 is the # of teeth on the ring, divide them it comes to 3.416666 or round to 3.42; that is your ratio
