If your fuel pump regulator was 'going', what should you expect car trouble wise?

On a lot of them, they fail because the vacuum diaphragm starts leaking, and you suck a ton of gas into the intake manifold. On others, the pressure goes way up. Both cause the engine to run way too rich and kill your gas mileage.
