This is as simple an ignition system as you can get. It only has one coil. Follow your spark plug wire to the coil. There is one small wire coming out of the coil. Unplug that and turn the motor over. If you don't have spark, your coil is bad. If you do have spark then you know something in the wiring is bad. (Switch, wiring, ground wire, etc.)
Make sure your battery is fully charged and you are using a new plug when you test this.

Check the fuse circuit and the battery. Battery may be weak you can have tested for free at a Kragen or Auto Zone. If turns over OK then could be a bad coil or coil connection.

Check the simple things first.
Connector unplugged?
Kill switch malfunction?
Low oil level switch. (low engine oil?) check it.....
It kills the engine if there no oil.
