I have a 94 Chev truck 350 V8 and think i might have some burnt valves, how do i check this and what do i look for?

Do a compression check. If it's low, pour a few tablespoons of oil in the cylinder and try again. If compression goes up with the oil, it's probably worn rings.

Do a compression check. If you have low compression in one or more cylinders it will either be a bad valve or bad rings. If you do have a burnt valve, once you have it fixed go to the exhaust shop and have a more free flowing exhaust. Chevy is known for putting to restricting exhaust on that causes burning of valves.
