i had an engine wash and sadly i think they got my alternator wet, they forgot to cover it up.. now it's kinda noisy, now i'm wondering, can i actually spray wd40 inside the alternator where the water got in? coz alternators do have gaps where you can see the copper thingy, and thats where the water got in, do you guys think it's alright if i spray wd40 inside it?

I have a 91 Chevy Corsica (yea, a dinosaur but running pretty good...until now....). I had a tune up several months ago. All the wires and fluids were replaced then. I just had a leak in the breakline fixed at the same time. Ever since the car is riding fine. However, lately it does seem to be riding kinda rough again...age possibly?

Ok...when I parked my car in the driveway yesterday after driving it for about 20 minutes or so. After it was sitting in the driveway for about 10 minutes it started to leak from the front. I checked the oil and it was fine...possibly down a bit. I do know I have a head gasket leak...a small one. However, even with that my oil stays pretty full. I checked the coolant and it was fine. THe stain on the driveway did not have a color to it so I didn't expect to be coolant anyway. It did not leak overnight. I moved the car and the breaks seem to be fine...but I think break fluid leaked from the back anyway. So, I am confused...help!

My car seems to have a slow puncture in the front right wheel. I suspect that there's no air escaping through the tyre itself as I would have thought that such a puncture would be quicker.

So what's the most likely reason for the leak and what should I do about it?

The batterry light and anti lock light came on in my car about one month ago. A short time later all the electric started going out in my car. I replaced the battery cables and the battery itself. the next day my car was fine but then the next day it would not even start. I called Auto Zone and they said start your car and take off the postive cable it it dies it is your altanator. Well it didn't die so I am guessing that is not the problem. At first if you let it sit over night it would work for awhile with no problem then it stared acting up agian so I went and got one more new battery. Now it wont even start. what is the problem I no it is something to do with the cars electrictal but I can't guess what it is. I do not have the money to take it to a shop. If I know what the problem is I can just fix it myself so can someone please tell me what could be wrong with my car.

I have a 2006 Altima 2006 3.5SE and the owner's manual recommends oil changes every 3000 miles but also says that every 7500 miles is ok under some driving conditions. I put around 9000 miles a year on the car mostly in slow rush hour traffic. Do I need to get the oil changed every 3000 miles or is 7500 ok?

I'll add another question to this one. The owner's manual also recommends premium fuel. Is regular or midgrade good enougn?

the car runs great but it has a problem with smoke. every thing is good until it gets warmed up. as it get warmer the smoke gets worse- when you look under the wood you can see smoke coming from the exhaust manifold gaskets. when i start it up theres dripping out of the tail pipe but that doesn't bother me. its the heavy white smoke the comes out when it gets warmed up. is it steem or burning oil? the smoke lingers and smells bad... any ideas on what could be wrong- vavle guids????

Hi everyone,

Having some trouble with my car.

For some reason, whenever I'm between the speeds of 90 and 100 km/hour I get a strange wobbling in the steering wheel and the car itself. As soon as I move past 100 even slightly, it's gone. Same with if I go slower than 90.

The wobble and vibration also seems to be less intense if I'm accelerating and the RPM is higher-- whereas if I'm going consistently at 90 with little acceleration, there is a more forceful wobble in both the steering wheel and the car itself.

Somebody help! What is going on?
