I had the same problem, although mine was a 1991. My problem was a sensor burnt up. I never found out why it burned but I soldered in a new wire and it worked fine and I never had a problem again. The sensor I had a problem with was located in the trunk above the drivers side wheel. You will have to pull back the carpet to find it. It s mounted on the inside wall of the trunk. It is black if I remember right about the size of a cig pack. it is designed to be opened and if it is the problem once you open it you will know right away if it is the cause of the problem. You will see a very fine black soot around the circuit that is fried and you will see a very fine wire that is broken. Like I said I soldered a new wire in and it was fine. But from waht I remember a new unit cost about 90.00 from the toyota dealer. Good luck

There is a bulb burned out on the right side or the flasher has gone bad.

Sounds like a bad combination switch. This is the switch that houses the wipers and the turn signals.
