I was parked in my car for 35 minutes and had the air conditioner on. Do you think that the condensation from the air conditioner is the culprit or may this be a more serious problem? Thank you kindly!

I'm just looking for a general price, so I'll know if I'm getting bulls****ed when I make calls to the mechanics.

Hi, I mistakenly put several gallons of water in my gas tank yesterday (out of a gas can marked GAS, that smelled like gas), how do I go about getting it out? I didn't realize it was water (I thought it was diesel, at first, until I talked to my boyfriend, who said no, he'd put water in the gas can), so I tried over and over to get it to start, do you suppose my car will ever run again? Gives a whole new meaning to the term "flooding" it trying to start it!

Ok, my fiance has a truck and he is getting sick of working on it and I am getting sick of sharing a car. lol He has replaced the starter, battery, and battery cables in the last week, and when he tries to start with a jump he just gets a whir sound. Is that the alternator? He bought a used starter, so could it be that again?

I idled out at a red light. Had a hell of a time restarting it. I had to keep it high idle all the way home. It will idle out if I dont keep my foot on the pedal. Not sure what kind of Carb is on it but I have had problems with the first start of the day. I use starter fluid for the first start and it does alright. When I was restarting it at the light I noticed the fan had chewed at spark wire and it was bouncing off the alternator. Anyone got any tips?

I have a 1965 Pontiac 2+2 convertible, and have an intermittent problem I can’t get to the bottom of. The car runs very strong and starts with no problem. But every so often the car just dies (like the ignition switch is turned off). It happens sometimes when idling, it happens sometimes when running down the road, just whenever it feels like. If I set for about 10 minutes it starts right up and will run great, sometime for days sometime for 5 miles. I checked and when the car dies there is no spark. I have replaced the battery, the starter motor and solenoid, the ignition switch, the coil, and the condenser, the spark plug wiring including the coil to distributor wire. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this happening? I am at a loss and in the need of help. Thanks!

I have a 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport and it just started making a noise when I left to come back to work from lunch today. When I am moving slow, it makes a grinding noise near the rear driver's side wheel. When I go above, I think, 10-15mph, it stops but then starts again when I am stopping. Applying the brakes doesn't seem to make it better or worse.

Any ideas on what this could be, or what I should check?

The "super unleaded" and the "super supreme unleaded"? C'mon now, I've never heard of anybody said that their car was inoperable because they use regular unleaded instead of thier recommended super unleaded plus.

We have a 2007 Honda Civic EX Coupe that we just bought in the end of March. A couple of days ago, the battery had died, so we jump started it. It started working again, so we just put it in the garage. We left it there for like 4 days, so now, when we try to turn the ignition on, it won't work. Does that mean we have to buy a new battery, or just jump start it, and let it charge?! Please help!!

My engine consumes more oil than it should while it does not even emit smoke either black of blue, it does leak little on the head cover but very minimal. I believe the engine is now blowby but how does it comsume too much oil without smoke? One litter of oil to 1000 kilometers or one litter a week.

I have a ford taurus '95. I was trying to put the rear break pad on but could figure it out. This is what I did. First, I put the emergency brakes on took the tire off and took the housing off. I then try to use a C-clamp to push the sponge like thing back to the housing so I can have the extra room for the new shoe pads to fit, but it would not move at all. I try do it while opening the break line to bleed them and that didn't work. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong.
