You should still change your oil at least every 6 months if you're driving that little. Your owner's manual will list what to do for low mileage conditions.

If you don't put much mileage on it, you should go by the months then.
Generally it's 3,000 miles or 3 months. Really, you should do it every 3 months or so, since rarely driving your vehicle usually qualifies as severe driving (check your owners manual), in which case most manufactures say 3,000 miles/ 3 months.
But 2 times a year is the minimum.

You should change it every 3 months. Oil will break down over time even if you don't drive too much.

air sets inside motors and oil oxidizes when exposed to air all though some oils are now synthetic and does not oxidize as easily so when you do buy a car from a lot change the oil every 3 months is recomended every 4 for synthitic oil but make sure synthic is recomended for your vehicle not all cars can use such newer oils

I believe once every 3 months is the recommended length of time, even if you don't drive 3000 miles...

I would look at the 3 month change.
I am assuming of course, that this is city milage, which can be as hard if not harder on an engine than highway driving.

you still need to change the oil at regular intervals because of moisture build-up in the motor
