Yeah , round about the 100 , if a little warmer not a problem , make sure the fan is cutting in at about 100.

Do not listen to that. The usual opertating tempature for a vehicle is 180 degrees if you get over 210 shut it off and cool. Thermastat should open up around 180-200 to help it cool down. If you have electric fans you can run your air conditionar to kick them on manually if you dont want it to get that hot. They can also be wired direct to a relay to come on when the key is on. this always helps.

Usually 180 or 195 deg. thermostat, fans won't work unless coolant is circulating. I'd suggest changing thermostat first if overheating fast. Fans should work after engine reaches operating temp. If by chance they don't you'll need to check fuses, relays, sensors and fans. Usually both fans don't quit at same time. Hope this helps fellow Brit.

around 90 degrees when your driving watch needle to see if temp goes back down after reaching 96 this means fans kicking in ok and all is fine but check coolent level so not overworking the engine

It is around 90 degrees celcius on most cars, give or take a few degrees. People should be saying on here whether they mean degrees C or degrees F to avoid confusion.
