when i drive my 88 ford tarus it runs fine (started four days ago) now everytime i drive it for about tens minutes and cut it off white smoke seems to come out behind the engine, i have plenty of anti-freeze i recently got an oil change and a flush because the inside was dirty(the guy also recommended i get a transmission flush because that was dirty, but i cant afford one right now) i have plenty of power steering and transmission fluid, and i dont know whats wrong it jus seems to over heat and produce white some only from behind the engine it doesnt come out the tail pipe, the tail pipe doesnt smell sweet my oil on the stick isnt bubblly or milky, the oil cap doesnt have a white ring around it, so i dont know if i blew a head or wat, do i need a new fuel filter? because i heard i could have water in my fuel lines i have no idea. anyone? thanks

sounds like they either stopped up the thermostat, if it is overheating, or they spilled oil on the mainifold. Take it back to the buy, for safety purposes, and have them take a look. If they spilled oil on the mainifold it should burn off in about 100 - 200 miles tops. if you have driven it more than that then they have something leaking and you need a mechanic to look at it.

An external coolant leak (heater hose/thermostat housing) won't cause white smoke out the tailpipe. You have coolant leaking into the cylinders. Either a bad intake manifold gasket or head gasket.

hello from the way it sounds you have a head gasket going out . that will cause white smoke chugging when its running and the over heating take it to a shop and have the radiator pressure tested if it is the head gasket after they pressurize it it might not start at all if it dont start or roll over have them pull the spark plugs and try to roll it over

just to be safe about it id have them look at it again,if they did spill some on the manifold it will eventually burn it off but if its got a leak in it it needs to be found, since you done payed to have it done once id take it back and have them look it over real good i own a repair shop and i never let one go out of the shop with any thing like that wrong with it,good luck with it hope this helps.

Check your heater hoses. May have a small leak & dripping/spraying on the exhaust.
