I own a 94' Ram 1500. I have running boards and will soon be purchasing hood scoops. The boards and certain paint spots on the body of my truck are peeling and/or missing paint which will need to be touched-up or repainted and the scoops will need to be painted a matching color to the truck. It is currently blue and I think I will keep it that color. Does anyone know how much, roughly, it will be to do a complete paint job, or it possible, a "touch-up" job? Thanks in advance,
Blake

When I first start my automatic 2000 Chevrolet Impala it shifts smoothly but as it reaches a higher temperature (right in the middle between hot and cold) it starts to kick as if the whole transmition is going to falt out. It seem to start after I got my transmition flushed. Would that have anything to do with it? I am worried and have to take it to get fixed tomorrow.... I just wanted some ideas of what the problem could be. Let me know if I need to add anymore details... thanks

I know my rim is bent on one tire of my car. I have no idea how it happened but anyway, I need a relatively cheap fix and I was thinking I could take it and get the tire from the spare taken off and mount the good full size tire on it instead. Has anyone done this and would this work. It's not a full size spare tire but I would assume the rim would be the same size. I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent if it makes any difference at all. Thanks!

I hope this isn't a stupid question.

My 96 explorers a/c stops blowing cold air when the car is at a stop. Is this some sort of weird feature by Ford to prevent overheating or is there something I can do about it? It works great when my car is moving.

What sorts of things cause problems with a car's power windows? Mine just stop working with no explanation whatsoever. Then, they will work again in a day or two. Then a few weeks later they're dead again.

What could this be?

There is no visible sign of any problem. But then, the workings of power windows can't be seen anyway.

Could it be electrical? Some interferance problem? Failed connection? Electronic?

Does anyone know what could be some causes of this problem?

I have a 95' Camaro and when i turn the wipers on they both miss a big spot where the lower left side of the blade meets the windshield. I have tried just about every blade out there from the cheap to the new high end Bosch. I have even called a couple of manufactures to see if they have a fix but the said due to the curvature of my windshield they do not have a blade that could hug the curvature of my windshield. Any idea of any fix or a wiper out there that could preform a lot better?

So I just got my license and i'm on my own. Actually drove it somewhere. The eclipse has been sitting on my driveway since about March. It barely leaves. And today when I went home from my friend's house, the light came on when i started it. The rpm was moving to 2,000. It usually just idles at 1,000. I didn't know what to do, so I shut it off. Call my mom and I pop the hood and it was hot. I was inside his house for about an hour. I checked the radiator cap or my car and his. He drove to bentonville and to his house and mine was hotter. And I didn't drive as far. I don't want to crack a gasket or anything. I did drive my car home after I thought it was okay. Its on my driveway. What could have done this? I did have an alternator replaced two weeks ago if that helps. Thanks

After having a puncture my Mrs had a kind person help her change the tyre- they commented that the wheel lugs were extremely tight and it took alot of effort to remove them, following the tyre change the sound started. When the Mrs took the car to the tyre service centre to check they said the wheel lugs were on backwards and they fixed them the right way.Following this the noise got worse (almost instantly), now it is nearly constant from the moment you first touch the brakes and will continue even when you are not braking. It sounds tinny, its a rotational "tink tink tink" kind of sound with a sqealing sound as you brake. We figure, from other related questions here, that the discs are warped/damaged, is this repairable or is it a replacement job? The pads are fine, no problems there and no dirt build up is present.

worked fine yesterday--went to garage this afternoon and it won't start. daash light are dim and you can here a clicking noise when you try to start. Sounds like a low battery to me but why? Nothing was left on and it was parked just like it has been over the past two years with no problems.

It started 2 days ago. My daughter drives it and she's still a car diagnostic dummy(ha-ha). I wonder if adding STP with the oil change would help?

I was taking my girlfriend home last night, when I my car suddenly shut down, no lights, no open door alarm---nothing. It wouldn't start and I couldn't even remove the key from the ignition. Anyhow, the AAA guy came and wanted to tow my vehicle, I wasn't going to bring her home to her parents in a TOW TRUCK, so I ask him to check my battery. It was dead he said, and so we gave it a boost. A few minutes later, I try the ignition and it worked. But as I drove my girl back him it died again right in the driveway in front of her father, of all places. He wasn't happy I was late, but he did give me another boost, which was good enough to get me home. This morning my car wouldn't turn on, and after a boost, the ignition worked again , but then died and the car turned off. I replaced it with another batter I had in the garage, but it's does the same thing. Are both my batteries defective? The "Low BAT" led is blinking in the dashboard too.

Thanks for any help. Much appreciated!

My dad owns a 2004 Honda Odyssey mini-van and it has three different brands of tires on it.

They are officially all the same specs (P225/60R16 M+ S), but the two front are different from each of the left and right rear tires, in terms of brand and maximum recommended inflation pressure (front two 35 psi; back two 40 psi).

Is this a safe situation, or should one always use four matched tires on the same car / mini-van?

Actual tires are:
- front left and right: BF Goodrich Revelation 97S
- rear left: Bridgestone Weatherforce Plus 40 97S
- rear right: Bridgestone Potenza RE92 98T

Are these tires any good?

And what would other recommend as a quality set of four tires (safety and durability over performance) for this mini-van?

And what is a reasonable amount to have a matched set of four tires purchased and installed?

Yesterday I accidentally put the wrong kind of motor oil in my car. I also didnt realize that I put WAY TOO MUCH into it as well. I was driving for about 2 minutes and it began to smoke. We drained the oil and put the right kind and amount into it. On my way home it was smoking a little bit. Is that just from the left over oil or from it being too full? Its running fine now I am just worried about the occasional puff of smoke.
