I know my rim is bent on one tire of my car. I have no idea how it happened but anyway, I need a relatively cheap fix and I was thinking I could take it and get the tire from the spare taken off and mount the good full size tire on it instead. Has anyone done this and would this work. It's not a full size spare tire but I would assume the rim would be the same size. I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent if it makes any difference at all. Thanks!

I hope this isn't a stupid question.

I mean this rim is making my car wobble like something out of a rap video. It steadies a bit when I get on the freeway and do over 60mph. My best guess was that it had to be bent because it was recently aligned(now that's all shot to hell) and all of the tires were rotated and balanced as of last week. Before the wobbling was in the front. Now that the tires were rotated, it transferred(noticeably) to the back right after.

i own a shop and the answer is no you are never to unmount a donut tire and if you don,t believe me call and ask any tire shop these are sold as a unit aka rim and tire i,d go to a local salvage yard and get a used rim useually they are around 10-15 dollar,s and you can put the tire on that good luck with it

NO! The doughnut type spares are not the same. the lug pattern matches but it takes a special tire. Go to a junk yard and buy a used rim for $6.00 or contact a local tire store and ask for a "take off" rim. It's their way of saying used rim.

Definitely not.
The donut spare rim is not wide enough to fit any regular sized tire onto it. Definitely go to junkyard to get replacement because the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg.
You need to replace it soon before you do any permanent damage to the tire.

it also depends on the rim. if you have expensive rims (steel), you can get it straightened out. back in the mid 90's i had a malibu w/ 15" x 10" hammers on it. i bent one and paid $70 to repair it. if it's an aluminum rim, it might not be easy as getting one from the junkyard for a few bucks.

NO!, that's short and sweet for an answer. As others has said it cannot be done and for safety reasons go to a dealer and have them check your rim. It may be able to be repaired, but if unsafe toss it away.

Nooooo... It wont work and is very very unsafe... best bet is to get another one from the junkyard for around $75.
